*Dean POV*
"Okay, thanks, Ellen."
Riley hung up the phone with a sigh and turned to face Dean over the top of the impala.
"Ellen hasn't heard from him," Riley shook her head.
Dean and Riley stood under a bridge, calling everyone they could think of to see if they'd seen or heard from Sam over the last few days. The two of them had woken up to discover Sam was missing. Dean had tried calling his brother, but Sam never answered.
"Bobby hasn't either," Dean sighed.
"We'll find him, Dean," Riley said, looking at him sympathetically.
Dean ran a hand down his face and sighed. He didn't understand why Sam had disappeared nor what could have made him leave. The longer they searched for him, the more Dean was starting to fear the worst. Suddenly, his phone rang, and Sam's name flashed up on the screen.
"It's him," Dean said to Riley. Riley rushed around to the other side of the car as Dean answered the phone, putting it on speakerphone.
"Sam?" Dean answered.
"Dean, you gotta help me, man. I don't know what's happening."
"Okay, calm down. Where are you?" Dean asked.
"Uhh, Twin Lakes, a motel just off the main street."
"Alright, sit tight. We'll be right there." Dean hung up the phone, and the two of them got into the impala.
Dean started the impala, and the tyres screeched as they raced off towards Twin Lakes. When they arrived, they headed straight for the motel that Sam was staying in and knocked on the door. The door swung open, and Sam stood in the doorway, looking extremely panicked and covered in blood.
"Sam, what the hell happened?" Riley gasped, pointing to his shirt.
"I don't know, I can't remember anything!" Sam exclaimed.
"Is that your blood?" Dean asked. "Are you hurt?"
Sam shook his head. "No, it's not mine, I checked everywhere."
Dean and Riley walked into the motel, and Sam shut the door behind them.
"What happened, dude?" Dean asked again.
"I don't know. Like I said, I can't remember anything," Sam shook his head.
"Alright, I'll go and speak to the manager and see if he can tell me anything," Riley said.
"Be careful," Dean said automatically.
Riley assured them she would be and left the room. Dean ordered Sam to go and get cleaned up. While Sam was changing, Dean looked around the room and spotted dried blood on the window lock. Riley returned, and Dean showed her the blood stain. The two of them exchanged a nervous glance. Sam emerged from the bathroom, dressed in clean clothes, and Riley pulled him into a tight hug.
"What did the manager say?" Dean asked.
"Sam checked in two days ago under the name Richard Sambora. He said the room has been quiet, and no one's reported anything unusual. Apparently, you left yesterday afternoon, but no one saw you return," Riley said, looking from Dean to Sam.
"What's the last thing you remember?" Dean asked his brother.
"The last thing I remember is being at that hotel in West Texas about to go out for burgers, and then next thing I know, I'm here," Sam said.
