(No one's POV)
(This was before light got his memories back)
L and light were up late working on the Kira case, when light yawned and his eyes started to feel heavier and heavier he eventually fell asleep in his chair. L noticed but decided to let him sleep.
(In lights dream )
"Light I think I've found someth-" but before L could finish his sentence his body froze.
"Ryuzaki? Are you ok?" Light asked concerned. L didn't respond he just dropped his fork and started falling to the ground. "RYUZAKI!" Light yelled as he went to go catch him before he hit the floor. "Ryuzaki?" Light was at a lost of words.
"Don't bother he's already gone." A random but familiar voice said from behind light. He turned around to see a familiar face... it was his own.
"W-who are you!?" Light asks confused. The other chuckled.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm you!" He said still laughing.
"T-thats not possible!" Light said still holding L in his arms.
"But I am I'm just the side of you that you forgot about!" He said never breaking eye contact.
"What do you mean!?" Light asked as he felt L's body go cold.
"Remember this?" He said taking a death note out from behind him. Light shook his head. "Of course you don't. But a memory is never truly gone no matter how much you wanna forget it remember that light everything you've ever done in the past will forever be there."
"What do you mean i never did anything!" Light said still confused.
"That's a funny joke light all those criminals are dead because of you and this note book... and now because of your actions Ryuzaki is DEAD!" He said standing up.
"THATS NOT TRUE! I WOULD NEVER DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT!" Light yelled at the other version of himself.
"But it is, have fun with dead Ryuzaki!" He said before walking away turning to dust as he walked away that's when it hit light, L was dead tears flooded his eyes.
"Ryuzaki please wake up! SERIOUSLY RYUZAKI WAKE UP!" Light started to yell.
"Light...Light...Light..." was all he could hear his name slowly getting louder with each time his name was called confused he frantically looked around but no one was in sight he looked back down at L in hope it was him but it was then time sat still for light as he looked at L's lifeless body. More tears streamed down his face as he held L closer to him as he cried. The only heard in the room where lights somewhat quiet sobs and his name slowly getting louder.
(Real life; L's pov)
I was working on the Kira investigation while lights head was down on his desk. I could hear him mumble something but it was inaudible so I left him alone until I heard, "Ryuzaki please wake up..." and then i heard it again a bit concerned I went to go wake him up it took a minute but when i finally woke him up he shot up and was drenched in a cold sweat and tears stained his face.
"Light are you okay?" I asked him concerned. He sat there for a moment before looking over at me with a sad and scared look on his face. "Lig-" I was cut off when his arms wrapped around me engulfing me in a hug. "Light?" Was all I could say. He finally let go and sat there for a second before whispering.
"I think I'm Kira..." he whispers looking down at his feat.
"What?" I say in shock.
"I think I'm Kira Ryuzaki!" He said a little louder then before.
"H-how can you be sure!?" I ask him looking at Light with hopes he's joking. He then explains his entire dream to me.
"I'm so sorry Ryuzaki I'll turn myself over to the police..." Light said standing up and started walking away towards the door. I stand up and grab his hand and turned him around to face me.
"You don't remember being Kira do you?" I asked he shook his head 'no'. "Then there's no evidence you are Kira." I tell him he looks at me confused.
"Ryuzaki why are you trying to save me I'm a murder..." Light tells me obviously disappointed with the person he has become.
"Because you're my first best friend and I may feel more then that I don't really know how to explain it..." I say looking him in the eyes his face went a little red "light are you ok? Your face is going red."
"Y-yeah I'm fine also I think you have a crush on me..." light says I look at him confused. "A crush is when you like someone and want to date them like be boyfriend and girlfriend or in our case boyfriend and boyfriend..." he explained to me.
"As in like a relationship as more then friends like we kiss and stuff?" I ask him he nods. "I'm ok with that..."
