Keith x Gene- trapped in the elevator

Keith entered the elevator to see Gene sitting on the floor reading what he assumed to be a manga guess it was in his backpack when they left earth. Gene looked up and smiled closing his book between his thumb. "Hey Keith!"

"Hey... why are you sitting on the floor in the elevator?"

"For some reason this is the only quiet place and I really wanna finish this manga." Gene explains as the doors close.

"Oh I guess that makes sense." Keith says and presses a button on the elevator it starts going up before it stops half way causing it to shake.

"Uh what was that!?" Gene says completely closing his manga and standing up.

"One second..." Keith says and grabs his bayard prying one of the doors open. "We're stuck between floors." Keith says letting the door shut again and panting.

"So we're stuck in here!? What if the team needs to form Voltron or the galra attack!?" Gene says starting to panic.

"Gene we'll get out of here! Sooner or later the rest of the Paladins are gonna realize we're gone and come looking for us." Keith reassures Gene, in all honesty this castle is huge meaning it probably would take days for the team to actually realize their gone.

*time skip*

"Do you have your watch on you?" Keith asks, Gene nods and looks at it.

"It's been about 2 hours..." Gene says then turns to look at Keith. "At least we're not in here alone."

"Yeah... hey remember that time James was talking about me behind my back and you punched him in the face. Then I came to help and we both had to get bailed out by Shiro again?" Keith asks looking at Gene.

"Oh yeah! Remember that prank we pulled on Mr. Iverson and he smelled like the dumpster and mold for a week?" Gene asked laughing, Keith laughed with him the two remembering the memories they made while at the garrison. Gene and Keith were roommates at the garrison, their friend ship took a little while to get started but it got there. They were the closest of friends, granted they were each others only friend. They would pull pranks together and well piss of James as well. "We had some fun times at the garrison." Gene said then gasped getting an idea. "We should prank the Paladins!"

"Sure but with what?" Keith asks confused.

"I don't know but it's not like we got nothing but time right now to think." Gene says and Keith shrugs. It was silent for a second before Gene had the courage to ask Keith something. "Hey Keith? When you were at the garrison... this is a long shot... but did you have a crush on anyone?" Keith looks over at Gene surprised a slight tint of red on his cheeks.

"Yeah... I do." Keith said, Gene eyes widened.

"Did you say do as in the present as in still do have a crush on her!?" Gene asked.

"Him and yes..." Keith answered the blush on his cheeks becoming more visible.

"Your gay!? Why didn't you tell me!?" Gene asked excitedly.

"I didn't want you to look at me differently..." Keith said looking away.

"Why would I look at you any differently you do realize I'm genderfluid right?" Gene asked and Keith looked back over at him.

"Of course I know we were dorm mates at the garrison, I really don't know why I didn't tell you, you know I was never good with emotions." Keith explains.

"Anyways back to this crush of yours! Do I know him? Is it lance!? Wait no that doesn't make sense you guys practically hate each other. Is it Pidge!?" Gene asks making Keith sigh.

"You do know him and it's not lance or Pidge... you actually know them really well." Keith explains making Gene confused.

"No one comes to mind?" Gene questions. With another sign Keith blurts out.

"It's you! My crush is you!" Keith says looking Gene in the eyes. Gene's eyes widen and his entire face is red.

"O-oh well why didn't you just say so instead of making me guess!? I like you too!" Gene asks him.

"I didn't think you liked me back!" Keith said with a joyful expression on his face. Gene then pulled Keith into a kiss, it caught Keith by surprise but he soon melted into the kiss. The elevator shook again and started moving, the shaking had caused Keith to fall over and he landed on top of Gene. What didn't help is that once they reached the floor Keith originally wanted to go to, the door opened revealing everyone that lived in the castle. Gene and Keith quickly got up and brushed them selves off their faces as red as a tomato.

"What were you guys doing in here?" Lance asks a smirk on both his and Pidges face.

"N-nothing we got trapped in the elevator and when it started moving again it knocked me and Keith off balance causing us to fall... what are you guys doing?" Gene explains looking at everyone.

"Oh nothing just letting you guys out of the elevator." Pidge said fixing her glasses.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN LETTING US OUT!?" Keith and Gene yelled out in shock.

"You didn't think the elevator broke on it's own did you? Yes the castle may be over 10,000 years old but everything is functioning perfectly fine." Coran explained fixing his jacket.

"Exactly so Lance and Pidge came up with the idea to lock you guys in here till you confessed your feelings!" Hunk added.

"W-wait you guys knew!?" Gene asks in shock.

"Everyone knew but you guys. Your very oblivious to emotions." Shiro answers.

"Well what were you gonna do when we got hungry!?" Gene asked pretty annoyed now.

"Oh we were gonna let you out by dinner if you hadn't confessed to each other and we would just told you guys then." Coran tells the two.

"It was really sad watching you guys get flustered over each other but both be so oblivious." Lance says.

"You all get a 10 second head start!" Both Gene and Keith said at the same time grabbing our bayards. Everyone's eyes widen and they booked it down the hall. Once they were out of range they both laughed putting their bayards away.

"Were we really that oblivious?" Gene questions as their laughs die down. 

"I guess so but I guess we've always been like that." Keith says shrugging. There was silence until Gene spoke up again.

"Hey since we're here wanna go train together?" Gene asks looking over at Keith.

"Sure let's go." Keith says taking Gene's hand in his.
