LIZZIE STARES out of the window of her cabin, scanning the camp as campers pile in. She frowns as she notices how few have shown up. "Where is everybody?"
"I know, right?" Caitlyn mutters, coming up behind Lizzie. "There's, like, barely anybody out there."
"I sure hope you've got something we can do at opening jam." Peggy says to Mitchie and Lizzie. "Because if not, I've got nothing."
"Kind of, maybe, sort of." Mitchie mutters glancing at Lizzie. "We worked on it over the school year but I don't know. I.."
"Can we hear it?"
"Sing it."
Mitchie looks to Lizzie for help but the blonde shrugs, nodding her head.
"Uh, okay."
"It's not finished." Lizzie reminds them as Mitchie opens her songbook.
"It's okay. Come on."
"Not anything special." Mitchie tries, causing them to roll their eyes.
"Come on."
"Last year's old news
I'm breakin' out
My six-string
And playin' from my heart." Mitchie sings as the girls listen.
Peggy smiles. "That is amazing."
"I love it."
"Really? Thank you." Lizzie mutters, glancing at hers and Mitchie's song in the latter's book. "That's all we got so far. We have a lot of lyrics, but the music's not really worked out yet."
Ella gasps. "Maybe we could just sing the first part over and over again."
Lizzie shakes her head laughing. A slow, soft melody plays from outside their cabin causing the smile to slowly fade.
"That's it." She mumbles.
"Really?" Ella says, surprised. "Nobody ever agrees with me."
Lizzie laughs slightly before she walks out of her cabin, the girls following closely behind. Stepping onto the patio in front of their cabin, Lizzie smiles as she sees her two best friends.
"Barron! Sander!" The blonde calls as the two turn to face her. "Hey, what's up?"
"Hey, Liz." Barron exclaims as he wraps her in a hug, before allowing Sander to greet her.
"Hi, how you doing?"
Sitting on the wooden steps, she turns her head to face the boy who was playing guitar.
"Play it again."
"For you, short stack? Anything." Sander nods. "Let's rock."

Last year's old news

This chapter starts." Lizzie sings as the boys softly plays the guitar. Standing up, she beckons her friends to follow her as the boy plays a more upbeat tune.
"I'm gonna run so fast
Till I can't breathe
Come along and follow me
Let's make some noise
We never did before." Mitchie sings.
"It's a brand-new day
Don't you see me?
Changing all my ways
So completely
This time I'm gonna sing
And you're gonna hear it
This time I'm gonna show you
That I got the spirit." Lizzie and Mitchie sing together, dancing through the camp.
