FOLLOWING AFTER HER SISTER, Lizzie pulls the sleeves of her cream colored sweater over her hands as a cool breeze blows throughout the camp. It was Camp Rock's open night jam, new and old campers alike flocked to the giant brown stage in the camp's yard. Lizzie pulls her book closer to her chest, as Tess wonders towards the stage. Her friends, Peggy and Ella, stand in the front of the crowd gathered in front of the stage. Lizzie stands slightly separated from them, reading her book.
She was reading the last line on the page, when she heard her sister yell at someone.
"Watch it!"
Looking up, Lizzie sees her sister glaring at a brunette girl around her height and age, the brunette apologizing to Tess profusely. Tess ignores the girl's pleas, walking past her. She walks towards her friends, glancing over her shoulder at her sister, whose turned back to her book.
Mitchie, the brunette sighs as she continues to walk. Feeling a tug on her sleeve, Mitchie turns to see a short dirty blonde haired girl sitting on the edge of the stage, a laptop in front of her.
"Don't worry about her." The girl remarks. "That's Tess Tyler, the drama queen of Camp Rock."
"Tyler?" Mitchie repeats, the name sounding familiar. "Is she related to T.J. Tyler? The singer?"
The girl nods her head. "Yeah, she's Tess' mom."
"Wow." Mitchie states surprised.
"Eh." The girl shrugs. "I think all the fame of her mom went to her head. Her sister is nicer, actually treats people with respect."
"Sister?"
The girl points to Lizzie, who was still reading her book, Mitchie following her finger. "Elizabeth, or Lizzie, Tyler. Youngest daughter of T.J Tyler."
"What's her story?" Mitchie asks the girl, the both of them staring at the oblivious blonde.
"Well, she started camp the same year as her sister. About 3-4 years ago. Lizzie is the total opposite of Tess. If it wasn't for their hair, you would hardly know they were related. While Tess is loud, Lizzie is quiet. Tess strives for attention while Lizzie shys away from it. They're total opposites. I believe I've spoken to Lizzie maybe once since she's been here. She's always has a book in her grasp, never speaking up during the camp activities or classes."
Michie hums thoughtfully as they look at Lizzie.
Feeling eyes boring into her head, Lizzie looks up to see the brunette girl and Caitlyn staring at her. Feeling her shyness kick in, Lizzie waves sheepishly at the two girls. The two wave back as Lizzie smiles softly.
Mitchie thinks for a moment before grabbing Caitlyn's wrist, tugging her in the direction of Lizzie. She notices Lizzie sit ups straighter as the two approach.
"Hi, I'm Mitchie." Mitchie introduces, once her and Caitlyn reached her.
"Lizzie." She replies in a soft voice.
Caitlyn smiles at Lizzie in greeting, Lizzie returning it. Mitchie was about to ask a question but stopped upon a woman's voice, greeting the campers.
"Hi, gang! I'm Dee La Duke, the musical director here at Camp Rock." A red haired lady shouts from the stage. Lizzie brings her book down to her side, looking up at the red head.
"Hi, Dee." The campers all greet in unison.
"Here at Camp Rock we sing." Dee chastises, putting her hands on her hips. "So let's hear that again."
"Hi, Dee." The campers repeat, singing, Lizzie remains quiet.
Dee scrunches her face slightly at the camper's off pitch singing. She holds her hand out in front of her, shaking it in a 'so-so' gesture. "Sounds good. A little pitchy in places, but we'll fix that by the Final Jam."
