Hen POV

Watching Karen hold Alexis to her chest tears streaming down both of their faces my heart shatters.

Karen's seatbelt was off before I stopped the car and the door open before the car was off.

Karen continued to try and reassure Alexis while I reached into the trunk (boot) of the car and grab the blanket that I have in case of emergency. I walk back to them and come up behind Alexis and throw the blanket over our heads so that it is dark and warm. Her breathing slows back down and her eyes begin to show recognition.

"Hey there." Karen says reaching forward and running her hands through Alexis' hair.

Alexis just looks at Karen and takes a deep breath before rushing forward an hugging her close.

"I'm sorry I don't know what happened I was just upset that you guys were mad at me and.. and... and I don't know." Alexis lets her voice trail off as her face falls.

"That's okay sweetheart I just need you to relax and know that we were never mad at you. We were just being quiet because we thought you wanted to relax before we got home and talked about our rules." I said quietly rubbing her back.

"Really?" She asks quietly.

"Yes, now I am going to lift the blanket off and go around to the front but Karen is going to hang out back here with you until we get home okay?" My inflection makes the question seem more like a statement so I slowly lift off the blanket and crawl back around to the front.

"Make sure to buckle up," I say as I do the same.

As soon as I'm sure they're safe I drive us home. When I check on Alexis about halfway home I see her playing with Einstein and Showing Karen everything about him. I don't think she really knows how adorable she is and how special. I smile through the rearview mirror before focusing back on the road.

Once we get home I pull into the garage and turn around to see Karen and Alexis sound asleep. I smile a little before climbing out and opening Karen's door. I notice Alexis has peeked her eyes open a little bit before I gently shake Karen awake.

Karen startles for a second before calming down and unbuckling her seatbelt. She reaches over to a sleeping Alexis and gently stands up carrying Alexis inside.

Karen takes her to our bedroom while I double check every lock in the house and follow them. When I come into the room I see them both sound asleep on the bed with their shoes still on their feet. I gently pry off the shoes and cover them in a spare blanket before kissing both their foreheads and heading into the kitchen to get started on lunch.

I was almost done with the grilled cheese and Tomato soup when a sleepy Alexis walks into the room rubbing her eyes and holding her koala.

"Did you have a good nap little bit?" I ask.

All I get in return is a little nod before she walks towards me and makes grabby hands. I lift her into my arms and she settles in and shoves her nose into the crook of my neck. I lightly bounce her as I pace back and forth from one end of the kitchen to the other.

I look back over the stove to see the tomato soup is done. I turn the stove off and move to collect the bowls and napkins. I place them on the counter and serve up the tomato soup and put a sandwich on each napkin.

I sit down with Alexis in my lap and turn her around. She whines a little when I move her but I shush her and bounce my leg a little bit to calm her down. She hugs Einstein close to her as her stomach growls low and angry.

"Well little bit it seems your tummy is hungry. How about some grilled cheese and tomato soup?" I look down at her cute little face.

She nods a little before opening her mouth in a silent plea for food. I grin spooning up some soup and bringing it towards her mouth. She lets out a little moan at the taste before grinning and wiggling her little bottom on my lap.

I feed her a little bit of grilled cheese and elicit the same reaction if not a stronger one. Her little moans are intoxicating and if she were to look at my face right now it for sure would scare her off.  She continued to eat her lunch and by the time nearly everything was gone she was whining a little and holding her stomach so I guessed she was full.

I stood up and carried her and her bowl to the sink. Gently placing her on the counter I move around the kitchen cleaning up my mess before picking Alexis back up and carrying her down to our room. I peaked in and saw Karen sound asleep so I gently shook her awake and told her lunch was done.

I helped Karen heat up our lunches and we ate in silence with Alexis sitting quietly watching us. When we are done we wash our dishes before carrying Alexis down the hallway to the room passed ours. I push open the door and watch as Alexis' eyes widen at the sight of our Little Room.
