"How is Fontaine anyway?" Ant asked.
Kaiko frowned at her son and so did Will. "You should be talking to her more often. And she's fine."
Ant smiled at his parents, but didn't respond. Fontaine tried to keep him uninformed as much as possible so he didn't accidentally blab about her boyfriend. Plus, he had a lot of distractions of his own to contend with.
"What's the time there anyway?" Kaiko asked.
"Oh, it's about 11pm." Ant replied.
"11?" Kaiko gasped. "We'll let you get to sleep then. Call you tomorrow?"
"Sure mom." Ant nodded. "Love you."
They bid him their goodbyes and Any flopped into the king sized bed in his extremely quiet apartment. As always, his parents assumed he'd only be studying 24 hours a day. The youngest Nekton glanced over at Jeffery and smiled, standing up to go and play with his favourite pet.
Ant Nekton was one of the most famous people in the world. Often, he wasn't sure if he was thankful for that. His parents were famous for their work as ocean explorers. He was famous for having some strange connection to a mysterious under water city. But there was more to him than just a famous guy. What? Guess you'll have to find out.
Ant peeled off his t-shirt as he heard a knock on his apartment door. He smirked to himself, waiting for the inevitable-
"Yo motherfucker! You here?" Wally yelled.
Ant rolled his eyes and walked out. "Yeah bitch, I am. Ay, Zelan. Wassup bro?"
"We thought you might want some company!" Zelan beamed, a smirk threatening to break out across his face.
"Why?" Ant grinned.
"The new episode of stranger things just aired. He wouldn't watch it without you." Wally rolled his eyes.
Ant grinned and grabbed the tv remote. "Let's do this."

4 hours later, the boys had finally gone to bed. Well, all except Ant. He glanced over at his friends who were slumped strangely across his spotless apartment.
Spotless. What a change from his childhood. His whole life was different now. Asif to prove his point, he was awake and drunk while his friends were asleep. A lot had changed since he was that young, excitable kid who discovered a city. He was majoring in marine biology. That was a given. He was still pretty close to his parents, even if they were why.......... No, he wasn't going to think about that.
Fontaine still wasn't super close to him. She'd told him in not many words that he was an idiot, a suck up, and that she didn't trust him not to spill her secret to their parents. So the only people who he trusted were his best friends. At least he knew they would never give up on him, right?
The problem with being famous was that everyone thought they knew him. They didn't. But they thought they did. Sometimes, he wished he didn't have that kind of pressure on him. Everyone liked him. Everyone thought they knew so much about his life. No one bothered to get to know the real him, and there were so many things no one knew about his life.
