5| Situation

Ant awoke earlier than usual, with the strange feeling that something big had just happened. He glanced around his spotless apartment, eyes adjusting to the sunlight just peaking through the window, and he frowned when he realised he was on the couch. He couldn't remember getting wasted so why was he out here? 

Ant glanced again at the room, and then registered the large box sitting in the room. Child seat. Wait what? Child seat? Ariana! His mind filled with the events of the day before and Ant was hit with a strange sense of permanency he usually didn't approve of. 

Regardless, suddenly alert, Ant leapt up and ran a hand through his hair, peeled off his shirt and then replaced it with a clean one. He wandered into the kitchen, yawning and decided he needed to make Ariana something to eat. What kid doesn't love pancakes, right? 

Ant hummed quietly as he worked, consumed with his task. He had no idea what he was going to do today. He obviously couldn't go to class, since he couldn't take Ariana in with him and she was certainly in no state to be sent to day care or have a babysitter for the day. Besides that would just be cruel. She would be terrified and it wasn't fair. And anyway, he didn't want to leave her. She needed stability, right? 

So he'd have to take the day off. Well, his parents did say to take time off. He might as well. Ant reached for her documents and began to flick through them while he worked, skimming over the parts he wasn't ready to see and focusing on what he needed to do for her.

You will find the attached file in the yellow folder this letter was sealed to. Please carefully review and apply the recommended courses and assistance for Ms. Hardin as soon as possible. While we cannot force you to do so, as you may understand, these requirements are for Ms. Hardin's best health and safety. We will review her case in 2 years time to ensure, that Ms. Hardin is safe and well. If the recommended assistance is not inputted within at least 6 months to some extent if not all, we will be forced to review whether guardianship of Ariana is suited to your lifestyle.

Child Pediatrician

Day-care/Pre K for during the day care

Twice fortnightly check-up on scarring and other injuries outlined in section 7a

Childproofing, where applicable in her main residence (Eg; Clips on power points, protection door locks, safety on windows.) 

Adequate clothing, food and space in main place of residence. 

Child psychologist/Therapist (behavioural, speech, social)
