Tokyo Jujutsu high caught you off guard as you took your first steps into it. The smell was different firstly. The same earthly smell that most temples had, but then something else picked up on your senses too, sweets perhaps? Food? Tokyo wasn't too far away from the school for that to be impossible. Second... you could feel the cursed energy in the building, amounts of it nearly flooding the walls of the sheer amount you sensed. the sorcerers here were quite powerful, though even the strongest sorcerer could be overwhelmed, maybe that's why you were sent here. Your feet picked up a bit and began taking you forward into the grounds more, trying to find a teacher or at least some staff. Though your mind was more focused with the thoughts fluttering in your head. What did your comrades back in Kyoto think? Todo was the only one who saw you leave though you weren't sure if he knew what you were doing or was trapped in one of his fantasies. Would Mai and Miwa be alright with it? Truthfully, it didn't matter what they think, though you surmised they would be surprised at least.
The main building to the school seemed to be the large building in front of you, though your attention was drawn to... what was it... it felt like cursed energy though it felt much weaker than normal. In fact, it reminded you of... Mai? Mai didn't have much curse energy so it was plausible but... Was Mai actually here? Did she follow you to Tokyo? No... no there's no way she followed, she isn't that kind of person. As your logic declared it impossible, your legs had already moved in the direction of the energy, your emotions wanting to confirm the truth your brain had already stated. Rounding the corner to an unfamiliar building, you came to a large open area that appeared to be a track of sorts. And in the middle of it was a girl. Your (E/c) eyes watched her movements with slight awe. The girl was athletic and well trained, flawlessly maneuvering a wooden staff between her left and right hand. Her long black hair swayed softly in the ponytail it was pulled back in, her movements quick and concise as it suddenly struck you. She reminds you of Mai. Mai had never mentioned her family though you had easily surmised she didn't want to talk about it in general. Your movements were unhindered as you slowly approached the girl, captivated by her movements. Your hand lifted and outstretched toward the girl as your pack slipped from your shoulder, allowing you more freedom.
(Y/n): Hello-!
Your voice rose softly as the girl move quicker then you could blink to place the wooden staff at your throat. Your voice froze up in your throat as the you finally got a good look at the girl's feature. She really reminded you of Mai. She was as attractive as she was athletic, and the glare she pointed at you only excited you for some reason. Your face pulled into a brief smile as her glare only deepened.
???: What do you want? Why were you watching me?
(Y/n): Ah you saw me?! I'm really sorry about that! I was just... truthfully I was captivated by your movements. Plus... you remind me of someone...
The girl took a moment to analyze you before relaxing her glare. You wore a jujutsu socerer uniform so clearly you were a associated with the schools. Also you seemed really awkward which didn't really equal ruthless killer, plus from this position she could have taken you out easily.
???: Hmm... alright.
The girl pulled away the staff and your muscles finally unfroze, allowing yourself to nod at the girl, giving her a closed-eyed smile from behind your wire-framed glasses.
(Y/n): Thank you. My name is (Y/n) (L/n).
You waited for her to respond before saying anything else. Her form was still rigid, unsure of you and your intentions. She seemed to have a mild understanding of you from your attire but she finally turned to you. Here your (E/c) orbs met her obsidian ones, a bright shining soul flickered back at you as your chest lept softly. What was wrong with you...
Maki: Maki Zenin. I'm a second year here. What about you?
Then it struck you. The reason she reminded you so much of Mai... was because they were related. They seemed like sisters but you shouldn't judge.
(Y/n): I'm... a transfer actually. I was asked to come here for awhile from Kyoto.
Maki's expression seemed to sour softly.
Maki: So that's why I remind you of someone. I remind you of my sister?
(Y/n): I didn't want to bring it up but yes. Mai never spoke of her family, at least while I was around.
Maki: No it's alright. It's to be expected. However, I'm curious as to why Kyoto would transfer you here. Are you supposed to be a spy or something?
Now it was time for your your expression to trend downward. A sad smile filling your features.
(Y/n): I wasn't told why. They simply sent me here citing some lack of manpower. As far as I know they just wanted to throw me away. I mean why not I'm not as strong as the others...
Maki took a moment to lift her staff and tap you on the top of the head.
Maki: Don't go going into your back story. All that matters is that you're here now. If you're a transfer you should head to the main building back that way to meet the principal.
(Y/n): Oh alright, do you think you could show me the way?
???: I can show you!
You heard a deep voice reply behind you. Turning to look of your shoulder, your felt your heart drop as a panda sat next to your bag, eating a bag of chips you had bought at the train station before leaving.
(Y/n): Aw come on those are mine!
???: Hmm sorry about that!
(Y/n): Why did you go routing through my... stuff... that panda is talking to me right?
Maki: That's Panda.
Panda: Hello!
You took a moment to collect yourself before rubbing the back of your neck.
Maki: Panda can show you the way back.
(Y/n): Alright... um... do you think we could talk more later? Or if you don't like talking we could train?
Maki pondered it a bit, wondering why you seemed so invested in her before letting out a sigh through her nose. Maybe Mai put you up to this but she had no proof. So... why not beat you down if you weren't skilled enough to be here?
Maki: Sure we can train later. I need to make sure you're capabable of defending yourself anyway.
You nodded softly with a smile growing on your face, though you were pulled away by an eager Panda, wanting to know not only why you were there but why you had been gaping at Maki. speaking of the Zenin, she noticed the soft pout on your face as you grabbed your bags and made your way back to the main building. As far as she could tell you seemed innocent enough, maybe like puppy trying to find a friend in a new place. Or you could be latching onto her because of some relationship you had with her sister. You were still a mystery for right now and she was going to be cautious around you for the time being.
Miwa: (Y/n)... transferred?
The room was a mix of reactions. Some were confused, others concerned, and then you had the few who simple didn't care or didn't even know who you were. Miwa seemed the most dumbfounded as she glanced around and could see the quiet and contemplating. Aoi Todo simply got up and left. He had known about it before the others though it still upset him that his dream was being put on hold due to political screaming between old geezers. Mai simply crossed her arms, pondering something. Would you meet her sister? A part of her hated the fact you were now within Maki's grasp but she knew you better. You weren't the type to simply drop everything to pursue a girl, though Todo seemed to be a bad influence on that... Miwa was upset generally. You were meant to be at Kyoto, so for you to up and leave, especially without telling anyone only seemed to upset her. The only other person in the room to show some reaction was the teacher of your class. Your teacher Utahime didn't like having her students used as pawns but knew she was in no place to say anything. So she simply hoped you remembered your training and to control your emotions. As the meeting adjourned, many of your classmates pondered on how you were doing in Tokyo and if you would make a swift return. But for now nobody could answer that. And it seemed Tokyo held higher aspirations for you than originally planned.
