Foggy Memory

A loud grunt filled the air, the noise carrying on the silent walls. The air was thick, a heavy aura seemingly melting around the room as the figure who sat in the center of the room took a moment to breathe. The room was filled with a thick fog, hanging low to the ground as curse energy seemed to roll off the figure's back. The figure ran a hand through his (H/c) locks, wiping back the sweat-drenched hair before gritting his teeth again. The figure took a moment to adjust, lifting his knee from out under him to let it rest as his other leg curled around his leg, his foot resting underneath the other leg. This movement showed off the marks on his back, well less so marks and more so tags. Several paper tags. These tags appeared to be talismans. You could recall from a part of your memory seeing your family use them in the past. Though why they were covering the figure's back was beyond you. The figure suddenly turned and his dark (E/c) eyes flared up softly, meeting your own. This figure appeared to be you or at least a younger version of you. A dream of an earlier time. Not so long ago but still a different time from now. But why would you think of that now?

Your eyes slid open softly, finding the blurry roof of your new dorm coming into view. Your hands snapped to life next and lifted to fiddle around next to your bed. You weren't sure of their location but they eventually came upon your frames and sudden vision had been returned to you. Sinking back into reality, your freshly awaken body felt tired once more. You certainly weren't use to Tokyo or these dorms yet despite the fact the room basically looked the same. Even the bed felt the same but something was clearly off... maybe the atmosphere? Ah, you didn't know. A sudden knock on your door filled your ears as your begrudgingly followed your brain's orders to answer it. You wore a simple mess of evening wear that you slept in and answering the door, you had wished you were at least partially dressed. There before you stood the girl that had captured your interest in your last encounter. Maki stood before you in workout-style regalia. She seemed unphased by your clothing nor the fact that you could have been naked.

Maki: Good morning.

(Y/n): M-Maki?! I mean Ms. Z-Zenin ah you should have warned me first!

Her onyx gaze hardened softly at what you called her.

Maki: Oh come on don't call me that. Just call me Maki. We're in the same year anyway.

(Y/n): Ah well... Good morning... Maki. How can I help you?

Maki: Why are you so awkward with my name? I bet you call my sister by her first name.

(Y/n): Well I can't lie, I do. I just didn't want to overstep. You are your own person and this is a new school after all.

Maki: I'll decide if you can overstep or not while we train.

(Y/n): O-Oh we're doing that today? Let me get prepared.

You slowly let the door close and went to pulling together some type of workout attire. You weren't sure if you had any though you did your best with what you were given. You managed to find an old pair of sweatpants you wore around your house and a tanktop. In this case we will call this outfit, "The Good Enough Chic". All that was left was to slide into your shoes and follow Maki toward the track.

Maki: Gojo sensei is out with another student today. They should be returning within a few days so for now I'm going to test to see how you compare to the other second years here.

(Y/n): Sure I'm game.

You followed the Zenin out to the track and couldn't help but once more feel yourself get reeled in. Mai was lovely of course, but Maki just has this fit beauty to her. She reminded you of... what was it... Todo said it one time... a tomboy! Yeah a tomboy! Was that an insult? You clearly weren't going to tell that to her face but she was certainly lovely in your eyes. In a totally platonic way! Todo might just be a little bit too much of an influence.
