- SALTY TEARS -

She stared at me stunned as I said no to her again, she withdrew her hands from my body looking at me with a pained expression, "We have till tomorrow, Theresa, nothing more than that. Why are you still undecided? Why haven't you made up your mind?"

"I don't want to."

"What is wrong with you? I thought you wanted me just as bad as I did." She muttered, moving away from me on the bed, "I don't know what exactly is up with you, but you need to get over it."

"Right."

She stared back at me, "An attitude too? Okay, Theresa, have it your way."

She walked out of the room, barging out of the door and leaving it open, knowing how much I hated the door being opened when I was naked. I hurriedly wrapped the towel back on my body and closed the door, sighing as I leaned against it. Delilah knew something was up. She could tell that I was acting strange. I had stopped her from kissing me while we were bathing together, I couldn't bring myself to let her touch me because the conversation between her and Mary kept ringing in my head.

I quickly got dressed because I was the one to set the table and the food would be ready soon. The dress ripped a bit from my rushed movements, but I paid it no mind as I walked out of the room. I went into the kitchen, saying my greetings to the girls cooking and taking out the dishes. As I set the table, my eyes found Delilah sitting alone and Mary walking up to her. They whispered some things to each other and stood up. Delilah turned just in time and caught me staring at her, she rolled her eyes and left the main area with Mary.

After setting the table, I started serving the dishes, ignoring the lovesickness that seemed to fill the air. The look in their eyes was enough for me to know they were in love, they weren't as confused as I was. They knew what they wanted and what they were doing with each other. They were in love.

The food was wolfed down in minutes and the children sat lazily around the table, catching up and talking loudly.

"Your chores! Stop unnecessary banters." Mary quipped, clapping her hands, "Get to your duties."

I went into the bathroom, washing it like I had been assigned to. The bathroom wasn't so dirty considering how it got washed weekly. The cleaning took a lot of my energy and I was pretty drained by the time I was done washing. I stepped out, bumping into Delilah who simply walked past me, ignoring me. My luck was probably nonexistent since I kept running into her whenever I stepped out.

The plants had bloomed even more while mine increased by just two inches. If our purity got judged by the growth of our plants, I was pretty certain, I wouldn't be close to being pure. My plant looked tiny compared to theirs, especially Peter's. Delilah's looked moderate, not too big not too small. They all had something different from mine and we were probably getting judged by the Sisters already.

"To the holy grounds!" Mary called, running towards the grounds with the others giggling after her. They all looked happy, carefree, almost they had forgotten that they were leaving in two days.

I performed the usual ritual of stripping and throwing on the white dress. My mind zoned out, my body being the own moving. My eyes followed every action remotely since I was used to it, I was extremely distracted. The splash of the water woke me up as the cold water dripped down my body.

"This is the fifty-ninth day of your cleansing, may the Lord be with you." They chorused, and the other children responded, "Amen."

"Amen," I muttered after they all did, getting up to my feet.
