The girl looked at the Titan standing in front of her. All around people were screaming and crying and running but the girl just stood there, staring. The Titan stared back. She had seen the big Titan kick through the gate. She knew that because of that big Titan that all the others were now invading her hometown - Shiganshina. She knew that her parents told her to run. She wondered where her parents were. She though that maybe they were a little ways down the street. She should probably go find them. She knew she should, but she didn't. Instead she just stared at the Titan. It had big blue eyes and they were... so human like, yet so foreign. It was fascinating.

"Hello," the little girl said to the Titan. The Titan did not respond. The girl supposed that was a good thing, she didn't know what she would do if it had. The smell of blood and ash and smoke filled her nostrils and burned its way down her throat. She had heard stories of the Titans outside the wall; and while it had made other children scared it, it had just made her curious. Curiosity that overrode her fear. That probably wasn't a good thing, she realised now with a start. She should probably be running like everyone else. But the Titan was just so big. It towered over the ruined buildings around it. How did it move so fast with all that weight?

"(Y/N)!" A shrill, panicked voice pierced the air. Her mother's voice. "(Y/N)!" Her mother screeched again. The girl didn't turn to face her mother, where ever she was. No, instead the girl stayed watching the Titan; mesmorised by its eyes and nose and the way it moved and breathed. It was so human looking and yet it was such a monster. Where did they come from, the girl wondered.

"Please! Let me through to her! Someone help my daughter!" Her mother was crying and the girl heard footsteps coming towards her. Then she was being pushed to the ground and a man - one of the Garrison - was leaping for the Titan. The Titan swiped at him but he was too fast. Someone grabbed her wrist and yanked her back. The girl let her mother drag her away from the Titan, pulling her towards the boat that would get them to safety. The girl didn't say anything, only watched the Titans around. Wondering at them. The girl had fear. She could feel it but... it was small. Much more than anything the girl was curious; curious about the Titans.
