Nyx fidgeted on her feet, slightly shifting her weight from one foot to another. A habit she had begun when in anticipation for fighting I had learned. Eagerness shone in her eyes as she stood by me, on top of the Hokage roof. Our masters were behind us, waiting patiently for the battle to commence. Their shadows engulfed us, blocking the sun from reaching our skin. I didn’t mind though, you get used to the cold.
Half the village had assembled below on the streets to watch the battle. Giggles and laughter abounded as they pointed at us and sneered. I felt a small burst of Chakra escape from Nyx as she struggled to hold back from attacking the Hokage.
“Stop it. He can sense chakra too, most of them can.” I warned her.
She looked down at her feet like I had just stolen her kill on a mission.
“Sorry” she said.
“Right then, it looks like we are all here.” The Hokage said as he stood facing the crowd. “Today, we test the proclamations of the Mizukage and the Raikage, today we see if they are telling the truth, that they have the most valuable weapons on this earth.”
A man, with a bowl haircut shouted out from below. “Hokage-sama! These are just little girls! How can you fight such innocence!?”
The Hokage shot a look to both me and Nyx, one that I couldn’t recognize…Pity? Compassion?
“I will not hurt the girls” he declared. “I will match my fighting level to theirs”
“Woo” Nyx said in a low, sarcastic voice.
“There is no need Hokage” my master called out “We will save your shame, and only have our girls bring you to your knees”
The Hokage stared at my master harshly.
“Very well. We shall see what they can do”
“We will indeed” the Raikage said.
My eyes trailed to the crowd below, so many faces, some laughing, some stony at their Kage being forced to fight two little kids, and some with angry faces that we were even here. A flash of yellow hair caught my eye and I was staring at Naruto who was below. The son of the White Fang by his side.
I sighed as I looked away from them all, wondering when this would all be over and we could go home. My jaw ached a bit, as did Nyx’s as I heard her cracking it.
I stared at the Hokage, remembering all I had read up on. He was from the Sarutobi clan, a very noble clan apparently. There was one thing we had to be certain of, and that was his summoning technique, the Monkey King Enma. Although he looked old, he was still Hokage and that meant that he was still strong, we couldn’t let our guard down.
“Are we about ready Hokage?” my master asked
“Yes, we are” he said sternly to my master. Then looked down at me and Nyx together and smiled, his eyes disappearing as he did.
“Shall we spar?” he asked, outstretching a hand to us.
“Girls.” The Raikage said as him and my master they backed away.
Nyx’s chakra and mine exploded into life, releasing the first 2 gates in the Eight Gates Tenketsu in under a second, with the third one on the edge of opening if needed. We wouldn’t normally open the gates, but we had done our research. This man was old, but not quite past it. The Hokages smile fell as he took us both in, in his eyes I could see us both, two beings that shouldn’t be allowed to exist in this earth.
Two monsters.
