A few years later.
I snapped my bingo book closed. There he was, the one I've been searching for. He's been a bit of a nuisence to find, which is why the Mizukage and the Raikage sent us. To do the common work of an average anbu was albeit a bit of a nuisance, but a change nonetheless. The Kages were getting fed up with him getting away, and were sure he was getting some outsiders help. This also made Nyx agitated to the point where she almost killed this one guy who happened to see him.
Well, his heart was still beating anyhow.
His footsteps were quiet, his breathing slightly heavy, as in the afraid-someone-might-hear-but-he-needs-the-oxygen kind of way. Typical, that kind of mistake, even the tinest can end a life like it was going to end his right there.
I jumped down from the tree infront of him and heard him take his last gasp of surprise.

"I'm home" I said as I took off my sandals in the doorway.
I had been on my own on that mission, what with the Raikage saying that he needed Nyx for something. Missions without Nyx weren't uncommon, especially when tensions grew between the Raikage and the Mizukage, but they always managed to figure thing out between eachother. I mean, why argue with eachother when you each own half of the most powerful weapons on earth right?
Nyx stood in the corridoor, leaning on the wall.
"Welcome back, have a bit of fun did we?" She asked, nodding to the blood on my arm.
"He didn't go as quietly as I would have hoped for" I replied,unravling the bandage around my arm with the mans blood on it.
"I see" she said. She watched me for a minute, carefully as if assesing my body language. I let my hair down from its ponytail. "Did you seal the body away for the sound?"
"Yes, evreything was clear and sealed up ready for Orochimaru and Glasses" I told her. Most of these guys we take out, we have to send back to Orochimaru. He wanted to 'Autopsy' them, for a 'special' reason. We knew the reason why he wanted them, we just didnt care to ask. Why ask a question you already know the answer to?
"Good" She said, her eyes still on me, watching me as I put my shoes in line with hers.
"Okay I give up, why are you staring at me like that? Have the Kages ordered us to kill eachother?" I asked her. She chuckled slightly.
"Not yet, but if they did you do realise you wouldnt be breathing right now?" she replied, a grin on her face.
"Neither you my dear sister" I replied, my own grin on my face.
Our relationship was complicated; we trusted eachother with our lives, we constanly risked them on a daily basis together. But if our masters willed it, we would fight eachother to the death, no questions asked.
But the mere thought of that happening was funny. We were evenly matched, in evrey way. We would only both end up dying, and why have one weapon when you can have two?
"I'm serious Nyx, why are you looking at me like that?"
"...The Kages are here" she replied.
I stiffend. They hadn't been back here in a year. Always getting in touch with us with letter or sending the most trained Anbu to talk to us.
"They want us in there pronto" She said nonchalantly.
"Why didnt you say so sooner?" I asked as I walked past her into the corridoor. Nyx maybe my equal in many things, but punctuality was not one of them. We walked together into the garden in the middle of the house, one of the few places Yumi actually likes to be.
"Because I heard them speaking a bit before and I'm not sure who you would like to hear it from most" She said to me crypticlly as we walked together around the garden untill we were outside the sliding doors.
"Hear what?" I asked as we both got down on our knees before the door. Nyx shook her head and nodded towards the door. I took one door and Nyx took the other as we slid them open. We then bowed face down to the ground.
"Ah, our wonderful girls, just in time." The Mizukage said.
Someone was in a good mood.
We got up and entered the room, closing the doors behind us. My eyebrows raised slightly as I saw Orochimaru sitting next to the Mizukage, with Glasses stood behind him.
"Orochimaru-sama" We both say as we bow again.
"To what do we owe the pleasure?" I asked.
Orochimaru laughed, the evil in his voice eminating around the room.
Who was I to judge? I was a monster myself.
"As always. They are polite as they are deadly." He said, a tangable hiss in his voice.
"Ryuu, there have been some...unexpected turns of events" The Raikage said to me.
"Like what my Lord? Kimmimaro and I have already been shown around a few months ago, do we need to go around the villages again?" I asked. I hadn't seen Kimmimaro in a while, and the last time I did he looked like he was on his death bed. I wasn't worried about him, not at all. I was worried what it would do to our contract with the Sound.
He wouldn't worry about me anyway. To him I was a title and nothing more.
Wasn't I?
Glasses pushed his glasses up his nose.
"That is the thing, Ryuu-San. You wont ever be shown with Kimmimaro again."
I felt the chain move against my chest.
"Why not? Has the Alliance been cancelled?" I asked, to no one in particular.
"Not exactly" The Mizukage said, looking straight at me.
"Kimmimaro is dead" said Orochimaru.
My mind stopped for a second. Kimmimaro dead? How? He was strong, yes he had an illness but he was getting there wasnt he?
I shut my mind down.
Kimmimaro is dead.
"We need you to fetch the body if you would please." Glasses said. "He was killed in Konoha, while we were fetching a special...package."
I bowed low on the floor.
"You are dismissed, go retreive Kimmimaros body and drop it off in the sound. We have to discuss where this alliance is going now with Orochimaru-sama" The Mizukage said. Orochimaru raised his eyebrow a little, confused by this comment.
As Nyx and I got up to leave, I noticed a large increase in chakra in the surrounding area.
Kirigakure and Kumogakure Anbu have surrounded the house, ready to strike.
"They plan to cut off this allaince with the sound now." Nyx said as we put on our shoes in the corridoor. "I think they are here just incase someone makes a fuss"
I nodded, securing my pack to my belt and adding some dried biscuits to Nyx's. I knew what she got like when she was hungry.
"You ready? Time to go pick up your dead fiance."
I nodded and started running, the chain swinging side to side near my heart.
