Chapter 3 | The First Investigation

Makoto P.O.V.

Everyone around me looked confused, and then they fixed their gazes back on Sayaka.

Celeste: "Oh dear..."

Leon: "So this crazy bitch actually murdered somebody?!"

Sayaka: "I... I..."

Byakuya: "Just confess already. I'd prefer for you to not waste anymore of my time."

Makoto: "Sayaka...? Y-you didn't do this right...?"

Just then, she suddenly burst into tears.

Sayaka: "NO! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!"

A couple people attempted to block the door, but she just pushed past them and ran off.

Sayaka P.O.V.

I ran until I made it near the girls restroom, and then slumped down next to the door. I buried my face in my knees.

They all hate me...

They all think I did this...

Even Makoto was suspecting me. How am I supposed to prove my innocence if no one even trusts me?!

Just then, I hear footsteps approaching me.

Sayaka: "W-who's there...?"

Makoto: "Don't worry, it's just me."

I look up at him. He walks over and sits down right next to me.

Sayaka: "So...do you think I'm just some horrible killer too?"

Makoto: "N-no! Of course not! Sayaka, I know you didn't do this."

Sayaka: "But there's no proof..."

Makoto: "Well then we'll find some! C'mon, what do you say?"

He turns to me and wipes the tears off my face. I smiled at him and he smiled back at me.

Sayaka: "Okay, I'm in. Let's do this!"

Makoto: "Alright! Let's head back over to the scene of the crime."

???: "I'm glad you two are up for it."

Makoto: "Huh? Who's there?"

We see a figure walking around the corner, revealing...

Kyoko: "Me."

Sayaka & Makoto: "..."

Kyoko: "Listen, I've been studying the people here for the past few days, so I've learned quite a bit about everyone here. If Sayaka were to actually commit a murder, there would be far less evidence pointing to her, and more pointing to someone else."

Sayaka: "So what your saying is, you believe that I'm not dumb enough to accidentally frame myself, so you think that someone else is framing me..?"

Kyoko: "Precisely. I would like to assist you two in the investigation, so we can find more evidence proving Sayaka's innocence, as well as evidence pointing towards the true culprit of this case."

Makoto: "Alright then! We could really use the help."

Sayaka: "Thank you, Kyoko."

Kyoko glances at me and gives a small smile, before returning to her normal expression.

After that, we return to my room.

Makoto P.O.V.

The three of us walk inside, only to discover that everyone else except for Sakura and Mondo had left the room.
