Chapter 1 : First Day

"Hurry up, Eren! We don't wanna be late on our first day!" Mikasa yelled in annoyance, scolding our bratty friend, also known as Eren. Although I don't really want to admit that he's 'bratty', in actuality, he is.

"Okay, okay! Just let me finish my food!" Eren yelled back.

"Guys, calm down." I told them, sighing in overwhelm.

I live with my two best friends, Mikasa and Eren. We only had each other, ever since our parents died.

My mother died due to our house being caught on fire. I couldn't save her. I always blamed myself for her death, but my friends didn't.

After the incident had happened, I thought that the people would at least put sympathy towards me. But instead, I would always hear them gossip about me. Being a selfish, stupid coward, and it went on everyday.

"Oh look, here comes the coward boy, couldn't save her mom because he's a wimp!"

And when I couldn't take it anymore, I've decided to move to another school, to spare myself from damaging my mental health with all the gossiping.

Eren and Mikasa decided to move with me. They said they'd miss me, and it was very thoughtful of them. At first I insisted, but I couldn't say no to those two.

And now here we are, on my first day.

"Let's go now, for fuck's sake!"

"Alright, don't rush!"

It took us seventeen minutes to walk when we made it finally. The campus is bigger than what I expected it to be!

After taking a few strolls around, the time ticked and we knew we had to face our new life.

"Alright, so what classes did you guys get?" Mikasa asked, doing little jumps in excitement. This wasn't usually her, but of course, anyone could get this excited on their first day. But for some, or me, would stand nervous.

To make things worse, I only get to meet them both during lunch and in Maths. Other than that, I'm all alone.

"Aw, seems that I'll only meet you guys during Maths and lunch..." My happiness soon turned into loneliness.

"Jeez, don't worry man, at least we still get to see each other!" Eren grinned.

"Alright alright, let's go to our classes. We're running late." Mikasa took a final wave at us, and started walking away.

"Well, I'll see you at lunch!" Eren grinned and left as well.

I started making my way to my first class, which is Arts, my favorite one. As I walk past different classrooms, most of the students would stare at me. I figured, as I'm a new student in here. It didn't feel bad like the stares I got in the past.

All it took was a few steps and I've arrived. My hands were crazy shaking as I held on the door handle and flicked it slowly. Once the door was wide open, the teacher had stopped his lecturing and turned to look at me.

"Alas, I forgot to mention; we have a new student joining us!" I guided myself to the front, eyes on the floor, shifting beside the man. "I am Mr. Pixis. Introduce yourself if you may."

The nervousness started to slowly sink in.

"My name is Armin A-Arlert, and..." I hitched my breath and quickly looked back down. I couldn't go on.

"It's all right, we all have our rough times, please take a seat next to that guy."

He pointed to a guy with silvery-grey eyes, undercut dark colored hair. I'd say he looked pretty attractive. It's probably because of the way he looked deep into my soul.

"Yes, sir." I shoot a smile and then walked up to my seat.

Levi's POV

I took a glance at the new student. The moment I locked eyes with him, I couldn't keep control. His huge pupils remind me of the ocean. His blonde hair shaped like a bowl. It wasn't that bad. His smile, is as cheeky as he seems to be.

"Love at first sight?" Someone whispered to my ear. It's the crazy four-eyes again.

"What the hell, Hange," I whispered back.

"The way you stared at him, I feel it!" She squeaked.

"Tch, whatever." I rolled my eyes and focused back on the new student.

What is this brat on about?

I had only been distracted by how blue his eyes are.

"Hey, you okay?" The new student said, looking at me, chuckling. His voice was high-pitched than just a few seconds ago.

"I'm okay, I guess," I looked away, trying to hide my expression.

"I'm Armin Arlert, I figured you couldn't hear me that well. I got the nerves." He smiled at me, his chin soon becoming light red.

I snorted and just stared at him. Everytime he looks at me, I try to look away.

"Earth to Levi... Earth to Levi!" I snapped out of my nearly impossible thoughts when Mr. Pixis' face was in front of me.

"Yes, sir?" I kept my cold expression as usual.

Armin's POV

"Earth to Levi... Earth to Levi!" My teacher yelled to...Levi, I think so, was it?

"Please pay more attention, Ackerman."

Ackerman? Isn't that Mikasa's last name? Are they blood relatives?

Questions started popping up in my head. I had to know of course, I had already became curious.

"Hey..." I turned to his side. I forgot his name again.

"Levi, The names Levi." He interrupts.

I coughed and muttered an apology, before continuing. "Right... Levi. I wanted to ask you a question if that's okay..."

He looked puzzled, though he just nodded it off. "Go on, ask away."

"Do you know a girl named Mikasa Ackerman?"

He fully faced me with an even more confused look.

"Mikasa? How do you know my cousin?"
