Fred was released back home with an exercise regime, a form of physical therapy to bring back all the muscle mass he lost while in his coma.  Mrs. Weasley of course was going to use this opportunity to feed her son as much food as she could make, seeing how skinny he had become.   He was originally exempt from the decree by the ministry of magic as he was in a coma, but now he was given a three week notice before he had to join the program.  Not everyone had found somebody that was compatible in the first wave of couples, so the ministry was going to call in all individuals that had been without someone in the first callback of students.  Instead of going to the schools though they have to go to the ministry to increase the chance of a match.  Fred had joked that now he wasn't going to be a third wheel anymore but there was nervousness evident on his face, subtle as it may be.  Although they had all gotten the day off of classes to visit Fred, classes were to resume as normal the next day.

When McKenna woke up it was definitely an interesting situation as she found herself tucked into George's chest as he held onto her, soft breaths tickling her ear.

What the heck?

The memories of the previous night started to come back as McKenna fought to keep her breathing and heart rate down as his arm crossed her chest to hold onto her shoulder.  George had asked if she had wanted to sleep in the bed instead of the couch.  An argument ensued and either of them were too stubborn to make the other one take the couch so they agreed to share the bed.  However somehow in the night facing different directions ended up becoming holding onto each other for life.  George began to stir and in a panic McKenna closed her eyes again and pretended to be asleep, not knowing how George would react to their position.  Being awake and George asking if she wanted to sit on his lap for a nap feels very different to subconsciously reaching for each other in sleep.  The second felt a little too intimate than what McKenna was ready for mentally.  Letting her face go slack, she felt George shift and stretch before realizing where he was.  When he did however he stopped moving entirely.  Gently she felt a hand reach down and trace through her hair.

"I know this somehow feels forced but regardless of the ministry, I also used to dream about waking up next to you like this."

George whispered.  This took McKenna by severe surprise as she fought to keep herself still in fear of giving herself away.  She felt guilty as if she shouldn't be hearing this however her curiosity outweighed the shame.

"I never had the courage to tell you how I felt when we were younger.  I wanted to take you to the yule ball so badly but Lee had beat me to it and I sulked for the rest of that night.  I thought you fancied him.  But when you kissed me on the cheek before we went to fight... it gave me a purpose.  I had more to fight for than before, and now.... I feel like I was given a second chance to say and do what I never did before.  And I'm taking all the chances.  Because if risking it means that I wake up to this, then I'm okay with that."

With a small kiss to her forehead George slowly got up to leave the "sleeping" girl rest for longer.  However when the bathroom door closed McKenna was anything but asleep.

What what what what what what what what what WHAT?  what was that?  Did he seriously feel the same way the entire time?

McKenna was pulled from her thoughts as she heard the bathroom door open.  Feigning a dazed sleep look McKenna lazily looked towards the bathroom as she stretched.

"Good morning butterfly.  How did you sleep?"

McKenna's face spread into a fresh blush at the nickname as she whispered a small

"Good, and you?"

George smiled brightly

"Just fine.  Come on, breakfast is in 15 minutes and then we have that weird family class today with the too excited professor."
