Ok just as a first off I don't own the characters except for the ones I have made, everything else is owned by J.K Rowling (unfortunately) but here we go.

The landscape was dark as it flashed through the train window.  Nobody was speaking just sleeping or staring off unfocused, minds elsewhere.  They were almost back, back to the place they called home for seven years.  Back to where they almost died, where their friends died.  Sitting in the same carriage they always did was Harry and McKenna Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger.

Hermione and Ron sat next to each other on the seat, Hermione leaning on Ron while Ron snored with his head on top of Hermione's.  She slowly ran her thumb across their intertwined hands.  McKenna knew what she was worried about.  Ron and her weren't considered together by the Ministry as only boyfriend and girlfriend and the couple agreed that neither of them were ready for Ron to pop the question.  So there Hermione sat and hoped that they wouldn't be split apart, and that Ron really is who she is supposed to be with.

Harry was slumped against the wall by the door glasses slightly askew half asleep watching out the window.  His eyes were glassy and breathing slow, he was far away from this train, already at Hogwarts but at a different time.  This left McKenna wide awake, quiet, concentrating on the passing landscape as she did her best to quell her nerves for what was about to happen.  She immediately hoped that she was dreaming but a simple pinch to her arm told her otherwise.  This however did nothing to her nerves as she had many vivid dreams in the past where she definitely thought that they were reality until she woke up cold, sweaty, and shivering.

Exhaling slowly she got up and stretched muttering a quiet "bathroom" before she exited sliding the door behind her ever so quietly as not to wake Ron, however honestly at this point not much could wake up Ron.  She slowly made her way to the bathroom peering through her peripheral vision at the other students.  If she was being honest McKenna didn't totally know who survived the Battle of Hogwarts.  Her heart couldn't take it and the images of the friends she knew and loved who died was already enough to wrench her chest in guilt and grief.

She was happy to spot Neville sitting with Luna and some other Ravenclaws she didn't recognize.  She knew how much the Battle tore him up and was glad to see him, even if it looks as though he hasn't slept in weeks.  Continuing down her steps faltered for a moment.  Sitting by themselves sat two red heads.  George and Ginny Weasley.  Ginny still had her seventh year but George was one of the oldest students required to come back.  McKenna hadn't seen George since the beginning of the battle that night.  She quickened her pace once she remembered that she had kissed his cheek.  Even though she had said it was for good luck, she would be lying to herself if she said that she never fancied George Weasley.

However George had lost his spark when his brother fell.  Fred staying alive was his all consuming thought.  Nobody knows what would have happened if Fred was actually dead but the fact that he is in a coma makes it as though he might as well be.  George was with him as much as he could be at St.Mungos.  Never eating, rarely sleeping.  McKenna now had the image of George sitting there while Ginny softly read to him from a book burned into her brain.  She had never seen him look so lost.  He was never home whenever she visited the Burrow, always at the hospital.  She never asked about it though, obviously being a touchy subject with the Weasley's and honestly McKenna understands George.  Her head and heart hurt just thinking about what it would be like to lose Harry.

She locked the door behind her with a soft click  and turned to face the mirror.  Her brown hair had a soft auburn tint to it.  She was always sad that she didn't get her mother's red hair because with it she would have looked almost exactly like her.  The longer you looked the more you could find her father though.  The shape of her eye, the crooked way she smiled, and the fact that her eyes were almost but not quite green.  The hazel was the number one reminder to her professors that she was in fact not Lily Potter.  Snape often used to catch himself when speaking to her which did not go unnoticed.  The main thing being that there is no L at the beginning of Potter.

After washing her hands she pressed some cold water to her cheeks relishing in the feeling it yielded before leaving the restroom.  Making her way back the ghost of a smile crossed her face as she spotted the trolley stopping at a carriage with first years eyes wide in wonder at all the different candy.  Too focused on the excitement further down she bumped into someone leaving their carriage.  Opening her mouth to apologize the words died in her throat as she stared into the eyes of one George Weasley.  Several seconds passed and the tension could be sliced with a knife until she whispered a quick "I'm sorry." before hurriedly making her way down to the trolley as it stopped by her friends.  Ron was awake again and buying some chocolate frogs as Harry realized his money was not in his pocket but rather in the pocket of the trousers that he threw into his trunk yesterday.

"I'll take a pumpkin pasty and two chocolate frogs."  McKenna said with a sigh as she pulled out her own money.  She gave her brother a look as she handed him the chocolate frogs nibbling on the edge of the pumpkin pasty. After a minute of quiet chewing and hushed whispers and smiles between Hermione and Ron, McKenna sighed looking over at Harry she noticed a frown on his face and the frog melting in his hand.  "you alright Harry?" She asked.  Harry looked at her and croaked out "I don't feel like we deserve this." Slightly confused McKenna looked down at the card in his hand and froze.  The card had them, standing next to each other smiling wearing their Gryffindor uniforms.  Tears blurred her eyes as she snatched the card out of his hand.  Putting down her pasty she opened the window and let the card go outside.  Sitting back down she put her head on Harry's shoulder.  She didn't have to say anything, Harry knew she felt exactly the same way.

A moment passed before the train lurched and begun to slow "We're back." Hermione breathed.  The four of them stood and looked out the window at the school that stood tall and proud as if nothing ever happened ready and open to students, just like it always had been.
