The girl, Sage screamed out when her body collided with the lights above. Streaks of hot pink and blue lightening surround her body before she dissapears.
"What did you do to her?" Bert yells at me. I look down at him and dismantle the gun in his hands. He jumps back his eyes never leaving my face. The sound of groaning draws my attention away. The large man I had thrown against the back wall is starting to wake up. Without a word I run out of the bar. Sam would kill me if I drew anymore attention. As soon as I round the corner I lift myself to a rooftop and collapse against a cooling unit.
I replay the events in my head and shake my head. How could I have not noticed that she was Enhanced too? Her eyes should have tipped me off. I rake a hand through my butchered black hair. Feeling the built up greese I frown. The results of a night spent in an alley followed by a bar fight. Something in my pocket shakes and I pull out the Tab. The surface is nearly transluscent before an image appears.
Violets big blue eyes fill the screen. "Can you see me?"
I nod and Violet's image steps farther away then Sam fills the screen.
"Violet sensed danger through the Tab, is everything okay?"
The sight of Sage vanishing into a light socket races through my mind, but I just nod. "Yeah, everything is fine."
Sam's brow crinkles with disbelief but she only sighs and steps away. When Violet comes back her perpetual smile is lsightly dampened. "There has been trouble in Europe so me and Roxy are going to be heading that way. So if you need to contact Sam you will have to do so with standard communication."
"Okay."
"Be safe Faith."
"You too." I say as the screen becomes opaque. I stuff the Tab back in my pocket and look up at the sky above. On one side nothing but blue. On the other a solid wall of gray. "Gotta love the weather in Oregon." I mumble then lift myself from the rooftop with a small prayer that Sage the Electric Mage would still be in existance.
