"are sure he's not at his house?" I ask and check the time again

11:56 AM

"yes, I know. I just called Dylan and he said that he was at his new apartment, something about being free as fast as she can" I laugh

sounds like lev

"you guys are so cute! I mean- flying out here just to wish him happy birthday at midnight?" Aiza gushes. I smile.

"well, I taught it would be fun. we haven't seen each other in a month!"

let me give you some context-

it is lev's 18th birthday and I wanted to surprise him in New York. today was Friday so, after classes, I hopped on the plane and landed here at 11 PM and Aiza being the awesome best friend she is, agreed to drive me. Lev, obviously, has no idea about this and thinks that I will just facetime him at midnight. As he is now legally an adult, his parents agreed in letting him live by himself and he just bought his own apartment last week.

Aiza stopped the car in front of his apartment. "ready?" she asks

"yeah" I check the time "shit there is only one minute left! see ya"

I sprint out of the car and run into the building. I already took his apartment details from Dylan so I knew that he was on the 4th floor, the last one down the hall

once I am outside his door I check the time. exactly midnight, great.

I planned to just knock and surprise him but standing here, I got a better idea

I open my phone and facetime him. he picks up almost immediately

"hey!" he smiles.

"hey so I sent you something, it's outside your door"

he raises one eyebrow "you did? why?"

I shrug "just cause. now come on open it!" I hurried. he jumps up from his bed and walks to the door

"I told you not to get-" he opens the front door and his eyes widen when he sees me

"happy birthday!" I smile. he rubs his eyes as if making sure I was actually there.

he takes me by the arm and drags me inside and shuts the door behind us.

"What-?" before I get to finish the sentence, he pushed me against the door and kisses me.

it has been so long since I've kissed him that I can't stop myself from moaning into his lips.

he grabs my waist and pulls me flush against himself and deepens the kiss. my knees turn weak and I have to hold onto him so I don't fall.

he finally pulls away. "thank you" he smiles, making a smile immediately appears on my lips too.

"now for your actual gift-" I move into his arms again and crash my lips onto his. I try to put what I am feeling into the kiss but I know I need to saw it too

I pull away "I love you" I whisper just against his lips

this takes him more off guard than me being here at all. he looks at me as if he was deciding I was actually real.

"I love you too," he says out of breath and kisses me again.

this kiss was different, it was not like the innocent ones from before, this one was heated and I loved every minute of it.

he picks me up and carries me to the couch. he pulls me down with him so that I am on top of him. as we make out, I hear his phone ringing in the background. I pull away

"that's probably your brother or friends calling to wish you"

he groans "they can wish me in the morning, I am busy spending time with my girlfriend whom I love so much"

I chuckle "and she loves him too so she is telling him to not be a rude son of a bitch and go answer their call"

he grumbles about how I cuss a lot and stands up. "can I use your shower?" I ask

he nods "of course. that's the bedroom" I stand up and go to my suitcase to get my stuff out.

I just got out of the shower and I was feeling a lot better. I was hella jetlagged so I get inside the beg and wait for lev.

he finally comes in and crashes on top of me. he wraps his arms around me and kisses me under the ear.

"you should get some sleep, Aiza told me about your day. you know you could have just flown out here tomorrow and I would have been completely fine with it?"

I nod sleepily "but would it have been as awesome as this?"

he laughs

"no it wouldn't have" he agrees. I smile with half my eyes shut and snuggle closer to him

"goodnight, I love you" I kiss him and put my head in his chest

"I love you too" he mumbles and kisses the top of my head.
