You walked down the hallway with the bowl in your hands meticulously, careful not to let any of the contents in the container spill over. Sniper was right next to you as you strolled to Kuon's room. When the two of you reached your destination, he opened the door for you and you sent him a nod of thanks in return.
Kuon seemed to be fully awake, and she was staring out of the window at the falling rain. You couldn't blame her, the water falling from the sky was quite a calming sight. It eased a bit of your nerves from the upcoming battle dawning upon you and your group. As the door creaked open, she turned to look at the two entering. Her body relaxed at the sight of you, and you gave her a warm smile as a greeting.
"We brought you some food, I thought you might be hungry after exhausting your body so much," you spoke up gently, placing the food down on a small table in the middle of the room. She looked at the steaming bowl, and you could hear a small growl erupt from her stomach. She blushed a bit, looking down at the floor modestly. You chuckled, crossing your arms. Sniper's coat was hanging off one of them delicately, and you made sure that it wouldn't tumble to the ground. "It seems my suspicions were proved correct."
She stood up and scurried over to one of the chairs connecting to the table, and you looked down at the other one. There appeared to be only two chairs in the room, and you would be damned if you were the one who took it. Glancing back at Sniper, you gestured to the chair, a quick implication that he should be the one to take it. He shook his head, but you simply narrowed his eyes. A silent battle ensued between the two of you.
Sniper eventually gave up and sat down, and you made yourself comfortable on the arm of the chair. You rested the coat on your lap, perking up as Sniper's voice began to fill the silence. "This is just an estimate, but a battle will begin in about an hour. Are you ready?"
Kuon let a small gasp depart from her lips, but her moment of surprise was soon replaced with a look of determination. "Yes. I am mentally prepared." She let her eyes trail up to you, and a delightful smile rested on her face, an accompanying blush making itself present. "Oh... Well then, I should eat this."
Sniper crossed his arms, looking down at the table. You noticed his shoulders tense lightly. He seemed to be greatly focused, and you could only imagine what he was thinking about. Lifting your hand, you rested it on his back lightly and began to trace slow circles. His body relaxed a bit, and you felt somewhat accomplished.
Kuon picked the bowl up, lifting the spoon and plopping the soup into her mouth. After a moment of tasting the food, her eyes widened and she covered her mouth with the hand that was previously holding the spoon. She looked over at you with wide eyes, gulping the food down before speaking. "This is really good! Did you make this, Y/N?"
"Ah..." You averted your gaze, a humble smile crossing your face as you rubbed your nose. "I did, but... Sniper helped me out."
"It was your recipe, Y/N," Sniper stated, shaking his head. "I think you deserve the credit."
You didn't respond to his words, only continuing to rub slow circles on his back. If you were being honest, it was starting to give you more comfort than you had assumed it was giving him. Pressing your lips together to form a thin line, your leg began to bounce up and down quickly. Your nerves were starting to become increasingly overwhelming.
You had no idea how much power the people you were about to face off withheld. If they were bold enough to attack your group first and put you on the defensive side, it confirmed that there was no doubt that they were confident. Just by piecing the few bits of evidence together, you could tell that there would be some serious power in this group.
You were in no way discrediting your own groups abilities, though. You had three God Candidate's on your side. Adding onto that, you had Sniper and Mayuko, both of which had amazing offensive abilities. And despite her low stamina, Ein was very talented and agile with a sword. You knew that they were capable of defending themselves, and you weren't worried about that.
