His chest was warm and comforting, the heartbeat against your ear relaxing your body. It wasn't often that you had moments like this, and honestly, you were surprised that you were able to fit this in with the little time you had. Sniper was set to meet up with Mayuko in about half an hour to discuss the next course of action, but before that, he wanted to spend some quality time with you. You never had a way of knowing how much time you had left with a person, and Kuon was the perfect example of that.
These minutes with you were precious. He wanted to take them in graciously, just as you did.
Your eyes were fixated on the glove your fingers were playing with, his hand resting in your own as you fiddled with it. His other arm was around your shoulders, pulling you securely against his chest. The two empty tea cups rested on the coffee table in front of you beside his mask, the couch you were sitting on being more than comfortable for the time being.
Domestic moments like this were rare. You occasionally would have them with Ryo, but it never seemed as genuine as it did with Sniper.
You bit your lip and continued to play with his fingers. There was an obvious elephant in the room, one that needed to be talked about. It wasn't a surprise that the both of you didn't want to mention it, because doing so had a high chance of ruining the romantic (at least, as romantic as it could get in this world) atmosphere. And as much as you would love to focus on your relationship, you couldn't. The situation had to be addressed.
"Sniper," you mumbled, shifting a bit to look up at him. You halted the action of playing with his fingers, causing him to furrow his brows.
"What's wrong?" he questioned, repositioning himself so you could sit up straight. You followed his movement with what was expected, straightening out your spine and focusing your eyes on his face.
"What happened with Aikawa?"
His concerned gaze relaxed, a slight look of relief washing over his face. You observed with a small smile. His face was something that you'd never get tired of seeing. After staring at a single smile on a mask for hours at a time, it was a breath of fresh air to be able to see him forming actual facial expressions.
"I guess I do need to inform you of everything that happened, don't I?" he whispered, running a hand through his hair. You nodded, waiting for him to gather all of the information together in his head and begin. He looked into your eyes, the contact being enough to signal him to start.
"My real name... is Yuka Makoto. Controls fire with courage, that's what it means."
Your eyes widened at the sudden information, a small gasp escaping your lips. If there was one thing you weren't expecting to get unloaded onto you, it was that. But you were grateful.
Yuka, Yuka...
A smile graced your lips.
"Your name is very beautiful, Yuka." You tested the name out on your tongue, a satisfied feeling coming across you as it left your lips. It felt right.
A small, nearly unnoticeable blush dusted across his cheeks, his hand coming up to the bottom of his face as he attempted to cover it slyly. If someone had told him that he would have met the love of his life in this realm after he initially became a Mask, he wouldn't have believed it. If they would have added that this so-called 'love of his life' would give him butterflies just by saying his name, he would have scuffed them off and called them crazy. But here you were, and the backflips in his stomach were very much real. God, he was whipped. "Thank you, Y/N..."
Letting out a brisk cough as he quickly brushed aside his exasperated form, he continued. "Rika Honjo, also known as Rika Makoto, is my younger brother."
