Your wide eyes met his own, desperately searching for any type of emotion in his expression. They darted over his features recklessly, a slight frown overtaking your lips as you were met with nothing. The breath you had been holding was almost let out as a sigh filled with disappointment, if not for you being stopped by one simple thing.

A smile. More specifically, his smile.

You let out a relieved, airy laugh as you basically jumped onto him, wrapping your arms around his neck tightly. He returned the gesture, encapsulating your waist with his own. You buried your face into his neck, allowing yourself to relish in his presence.

"Still have your humanity, I see..." you whispered, comforted as he tightened his hold on you.

"I couldn't leave how I feel for you behind so easily," he replied. You felt a small farm of butterflies flare up in your stomach almost immediately, letting out another light chuckle before pulling away. He certainly had a way with words.

You shifted the hat to one hand, using the other to grab onto his collar. He gave you a confused look, which you returned with a sly smirk of your own. Bringing a certain amount of force into your hand, you pulled him to your level, connecting your lips suddenly.

The tension in his body was enough to tell that he was a bit shocked by your gesture, but soon enough, you felt him slowly mold into the kiss. You smiled into the endearment, reluctantly releasing him as you pulled away.

He opened his eyes back up, watching your next action. You swiftly brushed his bangs off of his forehead, securing his hat back on top of his head. After finishing the movement, your eyes quickly shot over to his own. Your lips spread into an award-winning grin.

He looked back at you with a devoted gaze, wanting nothing more than to melt into your touch. Brushing your thumb over his scar gently, you ran your hand along his cheek before letting it fall down to your side.

"What's next on the agenda?" you questioned, snapping him out of his temporary trance.

"Ah." He cleared his throat, standing up straight. Looking over at Mayuko and the neutral Mask (the former of which had been on a relaxed patrol), he began to speak. "Mayuko Nise... I have to head to Rika. I could give you and Y/N only a brief explanation, but that's about it... Sorry, but I need your cooperation. You can find the details in the email from Kuon. Please share them with Y/N."

He slowly walked forward, occasionally looking back to make sure you were following. Mayuko gave him a small nod. "Okay, you can go now. Of course I'll cooperate with you... as long as it helps Honjo." She averted her gaze to the ground, an unnoticeable color briefly flaring up to her face.

"Sure," he stated, lifting out a hand. "So... give me the rifle and the mask."

She furrowed her brows, but handed them over anyway. "You need this mask? I thought you didn't have to wear this anymore, right?"

"Well, that's right... How can I say... uh..." He brought the mask up to his face, beginning to do up the straps. You noticed he was struggling with the top one, so you quickly tapped his shoulder.

"I can do it," you offered, being met with a grateful nod. You reached up to the strap, buckling it up. Once it was secure, you gave him a thumbs up. He gave you a small pat on your head, turning back to Mayuko.

"It's just a psychological thing. I think I can't win without wearing this. I have to be the Sniper Mask." He adjusted the mask until it was fully comfortable, tipping his hat down a bit. "There's no telling what has happened while we were up here."

You stared at him curiously, wondering what he could be getting at. Looking over at Mayuko, he began to speak once more. "Mayuko Nise, I'd like to ask you to go and look for other survivors. I believe something big will be happening soon, and we need as many people on our side as we can get."
