Right, so Happy New Year and all that. Here is my next chapter to bring in 2013. I do hope you enjoy.

Chapter 9:

As we descended the stairs, I could see each of the household staff lined up on either side of the front door. I didn’t really get why they were doing but guessed that it was probably a kind of tradition or something. Either way, I never cared to ask.

I saw Alexander standing at the doorway. He glanced up as he heard our approach. He was dressed in a neatly pressed suit. It was only then that I realised that Lorna was dressed similarly to me, except her dress was black and she didn’t have all the accessories and make up that I did. Then again, I’d never seen her look less amazing than she usually did.

I averted my gaze back to Alexander and locked eyes with him. He looked proud. The kind of proud you see in your father when you get a brilliant result in your exams or when our just about to walk down the aisle. That kind of proud. He smiled softly and in return I gave a small one back.

His eyes then moved to his wife. I could see the love and adoration in his gaze and the closer we got to him, the more pronounced it became. Seeing this reminded me of Samantha and David and the way they would look at each other lovingly. I suddenly missed them.

Before long, I was ushered into the back of a fancy car. Once we were all seated, Alexander signalled the driver to start the vehicle and begin our journey. It was soon over and the drive had felt much shorter than I had expected.

The car pulled up into the driveway of a large elaborate house. For the Royal family I had expected some kind of castle. I guess I was wrong.

Like the house I had been moved into, this was a large impressive building. Vines crawled up the sides and rose bushes adorned the ground on either side of the entryway. Though it wasn’t winter quite yet, the windows were covered in frost, giving off the impression that the house had come straight out of a Winter Wonderland.

My inspection was brought short when I heard my name being called softly.

“Issaelya.” Called Alexander, “It’s time to meet your future in-laws.” I shivered at the words. Marriage was certainly not something on my list of things-to-do-before-I’m-18. It wasn’t something I wanted to do at all. Period.

As we walked through the door, I noticed that the interior of the house was immediately grander. That was not, however, what held my attention. Instead, it was the beautiful couple stood before me. Why do all vampires have to be so damn good-looking? Well the ones I had met anyway.

The woman was tall with flowing brunette hair that stopped at her mid-back. Her eyes were a warm brown that reminded me of David. Her features were impossibly beautiful. I didn’t take much notice of her attire apart from the fact she was dressed far more elegantly than Lorna and myself.

My attention turned to the man. Equally as tall as the woman, he stood proudly and with an air of authority. He had honey blonde hair and sparkling green eyes. I felt as though I had seen them both before but I could not think where.

Both gave off a commanding air and I unconsciously felt myself want to succumb to their every command. It was then that I realised who they were.

They were the King and Queen.

A/N:

I just realised how easy it is to update when all you have to do is copy and paste from Word. I think I've been missing out. Anyway, I hope 2013 is good for you all and I hope you all had fun over the christmas period. Until next time. Buh bye.
