I'm sooo sorry I haven't been updating. my friend read this the other day and practically bullied me into putting up another chapter. So this is for you, Chloe. Enjoy Chapter 2.
Chapter 2:
The day was pretty uninteresting considering it was the first day back. My last lesson of the day was Art and my teacher, Miss Dobsen, told us to draw what was on our minds. So I did. Before my pencil could mark the paper, the door of the classroom opened.
Wow.
Nothing, not even an unhealthy amount of alcohol, could have prepared me for who was standing there. In the doorway was what could only have been described as Adonis embodied. A boy stood at least 6ft tall, meaning if I stood next to him my 5ft 4" frame would seem tiny in comparison. His hair, like mine, was black as night and his eyes like emeralds, practically sparkling in the light. His features were classically handsome but also high school boy cute. His lips look soft and plump and I instantly wondered what kissing him would be like. I soon expelled the thought from my mind. I didn't even know who he was. My inspection then turned to his clothing. Stylish dark jeans and a dark blue shirt that outlined the muscles underneath.
"Ah, Mr Hartland. Glad you could join us." Miss Dobsen's voice cut into my train of thought. "Please sit down anywhere you like and draw whatever your hand leads you to." She then bustled off towards another student, her auburn hair fluttering as she moved.
The guy's eyes swept across the room looking for which empty seat was the most appropriate. I'm sure he could see the lust in the other girls' eyes as his lip curled slightly in disgust. It should have been barely noticeable but I saw it. His green orbs suddenly connected with my blue ones , and, fpr a moment, I thought I saw a flash of recognition before they hardened and he looked away.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding as I watched him walk towards a table near the front of the class. I wanted to know his name. I wanted to know more about him but I just didn't have the courage to. That wasn't like me but I set my second goal since returning from Russia. Number 1 was Shauna and Trent. Number 2; Find out about, who I had dubbed, Hottie Hartland.
Whilst I was thinking, I didn't realise that I had started drawing. Art had always been my favourite class but I never had I drawn anything without thinking about it first. I mean sure, I let my hand move off of it's own accord but I'd thought about what I wanted to create first.
That wasn't what was weird though. It was the picture itself. I had drawn a wedding. The groom's face was slightly obscured by the shadows but I could see the bride clearly. It was me.
I looked truly happy stood before my fiancé in a dress that I had no idea I could dream up. In my hand was a bouquet of Calla Lillies and the guests were no one I recognised. Not even my Mum and Dad were there. Surely, if this was what I imagined wedding to be like I would have drawn in my own parents.
Feeling a pair of eyes on me I looked up to see Hottie staring at me. Not glaring, not gazing. Simply staring, his entire face void of all emotion. Feeling uncomfortable, I got up to get new paper so I could draw a different picture that I could hand in whilst I took the original to dwell on it's meaning.
The bell rang so I quickly shoved my picture into my folder before rushing from the room and then through the parking lot. I was the first to reach the truck so I pulled out my Ipod and started listening to my music. Miming along to Locked out of Heaven by Bruno Mars, I watched as Rae rushed towards me. Even though she wasn't that close to me at first, I could clearly see the smirk on her face.
I pulled out one earphone as she reached me, "What is it now?"
"Have you seen the new kid?" She enunciated every word carefully, almost dragging out each syllable as if I were an invalid.
"Yeah, but I only caught his last name."
"His name is Lucien Hartland." She said with a large, goofy grin stretched across her face.
"Yeah, cool. Anyway...Let's find Trent. I wanna talk to him." I grabbed her hand and tugged her along to find the aforementioned boy.
Of course finding him proved to be slightly difficult. However, we soon located him and, lucky for us, he wasn't anywhere near the slut he was currently dating.
"There he is!" I shouted as Rae and I ran down the corridor. Hearing our haeving footfalls, Trent looked up, eyes widening as we approached. we screeched to a stop in front of him almost falling over as our shoes squeaked against the laminate flooring.
"Hi, girls. What...What are you doing?" Trent questioned hesitantly. "I mean you kinda scared me then. I thought you were coming to kill me or something."
"That could be arranged." Murmured Rae, earning an elbow in her side curtesy of me. "Ow. Fuck, I. That hurt."
Ignoring her, I turned back to Trent. "Okay, let's cut the bullshit and get down to business before the bitch arrives." Trent went to protest but I cut him off. "Why are you dating Jodie Von?"
"Because I want to." He wasn't very convincing. The look I gave him obviously showe that. "Okay, I wanted to make Shauna jealous. I thought that maybe she'd tell me that so I could ditch Jodie and get back with Shauna. It was stupid I know."
Rae and I exchanged a look, "Ditch Jodie now and we'll havge a chat with Shauna so that she'll hear you out." Offered Rae.
"Really?" We nodded, "Thanks, you have no idea how bad I feel about the break up."
"We'll talk to her later and tell you tomorrow okay?" He nodded. "Good. Bye, Trent. Come along, Issaelya."
"Well that was easy." Rae stated when we were out of earshot.
"You're telling me. But I guarentee Shauna is gonna be more difficult."
She made a 'mm' of agreement and continued towards the truck. I didn't have a doubt that her and Shauna would be coming over to mine later. I knew they both wanted to hear about my visit to Russia but Rae and I had more important business to deal with.
As I trailed behind Rae in the parking lot I felt eyes upon me. Glancing around my cold blue eyes locked with bright green ones.
Lucien Hartland.
His face was once again emotionless but I could see, even from my position on the other side of the lot, an unidentified emotion in his eyes.
I bristled at the stare he gave me and then turned away, breaking eye contact and carried on towards the truck. The feeling of him watching me stayed until I had gotten in the pick-up and Rae had driven out of the lot.
I had the inkling that Lucien was going to be more trouble than he was worth. Godly good looks or not.
A/N:
