Me again. Chapter 3 is up next so I hope you enjoy. At the end of each chapter I might add a riddle and the answer will be at the beginning of the following chapter. Anyway onto chapter 3.

Chapter 3

Even from in my room I heard the doorbell ring. Maybe that was because it was at the front of the house with a view of the street I lived on and the window was open. Maybe that was the reason. Either that or I had really good senses.

Superhuman senses aside, I knew that Rae and Shauna didn't even have to ring the bell to be let in. Most of the time my mother and father let them walk right in but I guess that their parents were teaching them to be polite. Huh, imagine that. Rae Carlson, polite. That is quite a funny picture.

I didn't have much time to contemplate the notion of Rae being polite for a second longer sa the bedroom door swung open, revealing said girl with Shauna in tow.

Shauna Williams was, although the youngest of the three of us, by far the most mature. She was kind of like the mother hen. Always worrying about what was wrong with us and caring about our well being before her own. Well that was about to change.

As she was in, she smiled at me. Shauna had always been able to hide her emotions from others if need be but she couldn't from me. I could see the underlying pain in her sparkling eyes that were the colour of gems. Her chestnut hair was slightly mused and there was almost un-noticeable bags underneath her eyes. The bright smile she wore had the tiniest bitter twist to it. She was definately not alright.

"We have arrived." Announed Rae, immediatly catching my attention.

"Really?" I looked back and forth between them, "I thought I had aquired a couple of ghosts."

"You sarcasm is duly noted." She replied.

"When is it not?" Asked Shauna.

"When she is asleep." Quippped Rae.

"Good point."

I stuck my nose in the air mockingly, "I resent that you know."

"Oh well." Shauna said, sitting on my bed.

I smiled and looked at the hand shaped clock on my bedside table. 6:30pm, huh. "What took you guys so long?"

Both of them answered at the same time, causing their words to mash together.

"One at a time please!" I demanded holding one finger in the air. "Rae?"

"I had to talk to my mum about something." If she didn't explain something, that meant that she didn't want to, so I didn't pry.

I nodded, "Shauna?"

"Mum said I had to wait for these to finish cooking so I could bring you some." She lifted her hand and held infront of her a bag of smartie cookies. Yum.

"Okay." I grabbed the cookies and pulled out two. I immediatly began munching on them.

Shauna grilled me on St Petersburg. and not wanting to disappoint, I told her all the amazing things I saw. Once done, we lasped into silence sprawled out on my bed, whilst 'Edward Scissorhands' played in the background. It was one of my favourites. I mean you have to sympathise with him.

Anyway, back to the situation at hand, I looked at Rae had one of our silent converstions.

Her voice cut through the almost deafening silence between the three of us.

"What's up with you and Trent~?" Her casual voice almost completely covered the sly under tone in it. Almost.

Shauna's defences instantly came up, "What do you mean by that?" She demanded in a hard vioce as she shot into a seated position.

"She means, 'do you still want him'" I interjected.

She crossed her arms like a petulant child, "Of course not." Though her tone was defiant, her eyes full of sadness and her lips twisted bitterly.

Rae put her arm around Shauna's shoulders, "We know differently, Hon." Shauna pouted. "Tell us the truth."

That set her off. Sahuna's eyes filled with tears which quickly spilled down her face, leaving wet streaks marring her cheeks. " I really want him back, b ut now he's...he's with Trout face. so I'm out of luck." As sobs began to rock her body, her speech became a mass of gasps and hiccups for breath.

I moved over to her, "What if I told you that he is willing to talk to you about getting back together and is ditching Bitchzilla?"

She calmed down slightly and lifted her head from Rae's shoulder where it had settled during her crying jag.. "Really? He said that?" Her shimmering eyes glittered with hope that what I had just told was true.

I just nodded with a reassuring smiler on my face. That caused the brightest smile I have had ever witnessed to stretch across her face, her forest green eyes became a lighter emerald green as they glittered back to life.

"Okay. As soon as I get to school tomorrow I'll talk to him or wait for him to get there if I'm there before him." Shauna pulled us into a hug whilst muttering 'thank you' over and over again. She then got up and rushed over to the door. "I'll see you tomorrow!" She called over her shoulder.

I turned to Rae and we just sat staring at each other for waht seemed like ages before bursting into laughter.

"That was...that was easier...than expected." admitted Rae with laughter slightly obscuring her speech.

"I know." I huffed, trying to regain controlover my erratic breathing.

We sat in silence for a few moments. And I mean complete silence as the DVD had finished. During this, I remembered the picture from Art. And Lucien Hartland.

I got up off of my bed and went over to my bag which was sat on my plush leather desk chair. I searched through it until I found the drawing. My actions caused Rae's curious side to emerge.

"What's that, Issae?" Her brow was furrowed in confusion and her nose wrinkled.

"I drew this in Art today, but I din't know why." I pushed the paper into her hands. It was quickly unfolded and her eyes widened so much, I was scared they'd pop out of her head.

"Is that you? You're in a wedding dress." I nodded. "But why would you draw your own wedding?"

"I don't know and besides, it can't really be my wedding. My parents aren't there. Why wouldn't I draw them in?"

I don't know, Issae." She studied the image again. "Maybe you're psychic and this will actually happen. But you have yet to meet, Mr Shadows." She waggled her eyebrows suggestively.

I looked at her in disgust, "Don't start. It can't be true because my parents aren't there."

She shrugged, "Okay, then. Well, I don't know." Rae stretched and yawned, "I better be off. See you tomorrow."

I grabbed her arm before she made it out of the door, "Don't tell anyone about this." She opened her mouth to speak but I beat her to it. "Not even Shauna." She nodded and I let go of her.

Once I'd switched off the TV and put the DVD away, I changed into my jammies and climbed into bed. The one thing I saw once my eyes closed were sparkling green eyes, void of all emotion.
