Clean Slate

Word association

Techno decided to try out his idea for a word association game to see what Tommy remembers so, after Tubbo left and Phil went to go make some dinner Techno sat down next to Tommy to ask if if he wanted to play.

"Hey Tommy, you wanna play a game?" Tommy's eyes lit up as if he hadn't done anything fun in forever. He nodded his head in agreement multiple times which made Techno smile, he hadn't seen Tommy this excited before Tubbo came over.

"Alright the rules are simple I'm going to say a word and you have to say the first word that comes to your mind ok, don't overthink it" Tommy nodded his head to show that he understood the rules and Techno began thinking of where he should start. Perhaps with something easy such as references to big points that he would probably remember.

"Ravine" a simple pogtopia reference that wasn't too jarring for Tommy

Tommy paused for five seconds before replying with what word he happened to think of "Base!" Techno saw how that was connected to Pogtopia for sure after all it was a base in a ravine maybe this game could help more than he though at first

"Alright how about festival" another easy one

Tommy hastily responded "Fireworks" a vague connection to the red festival as fireworks could be at normal festivals.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to see if he would remember people or at least things associated with people. "Alright then horns"

That one didn't bode well with Tommy he tensed up and instead giving a one word answer he gave a few words that all clearly tied to Jschlatt and two also tied to Tubbo "Alcohol,  Leader, Exile" Techno realized something was wrong Tommy was scared so he decided to stop the game and calm Tommy down first

"Hey bud Im sorry I didn't mean to scare you" Techno sounded sincere and kind but Tommy still looked scared Techno knew he would have to find out more so he asked Tommy a question "Do you wanna talk about why you're scared so I can help you bud?" Techno wasn't expecting a response but he got one anyways.

"I-I h-have a n-nightmare w-where t-t-this horned g-guy k-kicked m-m-me out o-of a-a p-place a-a-and" Techno cut him off there he didn't want Tommy to stress out anymore "Hey bud it's ok it's just a nightmare and I promise the horned man wont ever be able to get you" Techno wondered if Tommy had other dreams of past events but for right now Techno needed to comfort his brother.

"P-p-promise" Tommy looked up at Techno like a little kid looking at a teenager.

"I promise" Techno assured him. That's when something unexpected happened, Tommy hugged Techno something he used to never do. It was a little weird for Techno at first after all he rarely got hugs but it felt nice and Techno hugged his little brother back who was starting to fall asleep.

Tommy yawned, stretched, and then laid his head down on Technos lap before softly closing his eyes as he drifted off to sleep. This made Technos heart melt as he took off his cape to use as a makeshift blanket for Tommy. Techno started to run his fingers through his little brothers blond hair trying not to wake him up before eventually falling asleep himself leaned up against the wall.

Phil walked into Tommy's room as it had been awfully quiet when he saw Tommy asleep on Technos lap who was also asleep.

Then all of a sudden Phil noticed someone waiting outside of the house.
