Chapter 4- On The Run

My anger boils over at the thought of my grandmother getting hurt from her trying to protect me and let Crystal takeover and I shift. This causes my grandfather to turn around and watch as my body shifts and contorts into my wolf form. This time was less painful and easier than the first time like Crystal said. I see fear fill his eyes when he sees me shift and he runs to the corner to grab his shotgun. He turns around and fires a shot at me but before he can shot again I grab his neck and snap it. I look at my grandmother and see sadness in her eyes. I feel sorry for her but I can't stay here anymore and with that I run out of the house and into the woods. I run for what seems like forever and finally stop to take a breath when I realize I was shot. Shit. I lay down weak and realized that I'm going to die here. Sadness hit me that I wasn't going to get to live a longer life but at least I'll see my parents again soon. I shift back into my human form and look at the sky and watch how it starts raining and there's thunder sounding in the sky. I suddenly smell the rain and champagne again and see Kyle standing over me. He was so handsome I thought as I lose consciousness.

Kyle POV

I arrive at the restaurant where I was supposed to met my beta and the Alpha of the Blue Lake pack. I was the Alpha of the Black mist pack, the biggest and strongest pack in the world now. I am 20 now and I still haven't found my mate. It pains me to have been without my mate for so long but I'm hopeful I'll find her soon. I enter the restaurant and the smell of Roses and fresh grass fill my nostrils.

Mate, my wolf Kiernan howls and look around but I don't see her. I shake my head and walk to my table and find that the sent is now coming near the restrooms. I ignore the men siting at the table and follow the sent of my mate. I walk down the hallway to the restrooms and come face to face with a beautiful woman. She had long dirty blonde hair that was almost to her waist and gorgeous light blue eyes. She had a tight black dress in that accentuated her body and showed off all of her beautiful curves. I look her up and down and look back into her eyes as she introduces herself as Paige. I can't help but smile and kiss her knuckles as she extends her hand to me. Her cheeks turn red but I don't care. It it were us alone I'd make her mine right now. But I have to take it slow. I tell her my name and she smiles a beautiful smile. Suddenly she says she has to go and leaves. I watch as she walks to a table full of woman and says thenvshe isn't feeling well and leaves. I want to run after her but Mason, my beta forces me to focus on the meeting. Its long and boring but we finally finish and are able to leave. We drive back to the packhouse and I try to fall asleep but Kiernan keeps me up wanting to find his mate. I convince him to wait till dawn till we search for her and he agrees allowing me to sleep. As the sun rose I faintly smelled my mate and took off to find her. I ran through the forest as it started to rain and thunder. As I got closer I noticed something was terribly wrong as I smelled blood with her scent. I finally found her on the first floor. She was naked with a bullet hole in her side and bruised and blood all over her. He beautiful eyes met mine before she lost consciousness.

"No!" I yelled as I ran to her side and took off my shirt that I was wearing and put it on her to help cover her naked body. I gently picked her up and took off to the packhouse with her barely alive body in my arms. I just found you, please don't leave me I thought as I ran fatser than I ever have to the pack doctor.
