The Lost Luna

Chapter 8- The Return

I woke up to the sun shining on my face. I went to stretch but the strong arm around my waist stopped me from moving much.

"Morning love." Said a deep and soothing voice behind me. I could feel his hot breath on my ear and it sent shivers down my spine.

"Morning." I replied as I turned around and snuggled closer to him. He didn't speak again until after a few minutes.

"I have some Alpha business to take care of today." He said as I felt him play with my hair. I hated how he had to leave me but I knew that soon I would have responsibilities too.

"OK then I will shower and go see my grandmother." I tell him sitting up.

"What! No you need to stay here." He said as concern and worry showed in his face and voice.

"Kyle I need to check on her and see if she's alright. I also want some of my own clothes and belongings since I'm sure I'll be living here from now on." I can see him gleam in excitement and pride when I talk about living here.

"The doctor said you needed at least another day of bed rest."

"Kyle everything has healed, I'm just a little sore. Please I need to make sure she's alright. She protected me from my grandfather and I don't know if she's hurt or not." He nods and I try to hold in my excitement.

"OK you can go just take a guard with you." I nod in agreement. "Take Annie. She's one of our best warriors." I nod and then walk into the bathroom and shower. It felt good to finally feel clean. I wrap a towel around me and walk back into the room. Kyle is gone but there's something on the bed. There's a not and clean clothes. The note reads-

My beautiful mate. Sorry I couldn't say goodbye and kiss that beautiful face of yours before having to attend a meeting. Annie is outside the door waiting to accompany you and here's a clean pair of clothes to help you feel clean. Stay safe Love.

This guy is too cute, I thought to myself as I quickly got dressed and headed out of the room to meet Annie. She was the same height as me and had long blonde hair. She had green eyes and nice tan skin.

"Hi I'm Paige." I tell her and she takes a couple steps back and bows.

"Luna." She says. I freak internally freakout.

"Please get up, and call me Paige please. I'm not comfortable being called Luna yet." She nods and leads the way outside. We walk to the edge of the territory and shifts into her wolf. He wolf is brown but strong. I shift into my wolf and find that I'm bigger than her. I take off into the woods following behind Annie. Within minutes we're right behind my grandparents house in the woods. We shift back and Annie hands me a change of clothes from a bag she was carrying. I didn't even notice it. As soon as we're changed we head to the side door and enter the house. As I walk into the dining room I notice that the blood on the floor is cleaned but not the blood on the wall. I hear something in the living room and turn to see my grandmother. She looks completely fine and I run and hug her.

"I was worried about you pumpkin." She said as she rubbed my back.

"And I was worried about you." I push away from her tight embrace just enough to look at her face. "Nana, I'm gonna take my stuff and leave. I can't stay anymore. I have a mate bond to a leader of my kind and I need to go and help him. I'll still visit though." She nods but you can still see the sadness in her eyes. I go and pack my stuff and throw it in some boxes and a couple suitcases and put it in the bed of my truck. I said goodbye to my grandmother and headed outside when I saw a weird van at the end of the drive. Before I could say something five men ambushed us and started attacking us. Annie quickly disarmed two of them and was working on disarming the third and knocking the other two unconscious and I struggled fighting the other two guys. I managed to disarm one when something hit me on the top of my head and knocked me unconscious.
