He walked fast. Faster than he usually did, leaving the dance studio and getting inside his 'Genius Lab'. Before even a coherent thought could enter his mind, Yoongi's hand was already calling a number he only ever used in the night.
"Hello?" Came in her distracted voice, soothing his anger miraculously.
"Can we meet?" he asked, without wasting any time or his braincells upon the thought.
"No," she replied bluntly. "I'm at work and I have a meeting in ten minutes."
Hearing that, Yoongi was about to hang up, but her melodious voice stopped him.
"You can talk to me. You seem bothered." Before today, Yoongi never thought of Heejae as an empathetic person. But maybe, he was too caught up in prejudices.
He was about to deny her offer, however, he did the opposite. "My members know."
Silence on the other end. He could already imagine her thick and sharp brows twisting in confusion."Know what?"
"About us," he replied, finding his way to his chair.
"Okay, Yoongi, you have to be clear here. Tell me everything," she demanded and this time, it didn't annoy him. She sounded frantic, almost scared. And, so, he sighed, explaining everything that happened earlier.
"So, they don't know who you are meeting up with? They just know you are seeing someone, yes?" she asked after he was done. Yoongi felt a little hurt that she only focused on that aspect of the whole event and not what angered him in the first place.
"Yes, they don't know who you are."
"Hmm, I see. And I assume you are angry because they thought you are using me?" she asked, surprising him for the second time since their conversation began. It's not like they talked so long with civility or without tearing off each other's clothes. So, he was bound to get surprised.
When he answered with a yes, he heard Heejae sigh on the other end. "You know, I can see why they thought you were using me. You never told them this was happening with consent. They could have assumed the identity of your partner as a prostitute for all you know. It's nothing to be angry about. However, you jabbing at Tae like that was wrong. I might not know what is happening in his life but he must've been hurt."
Then what about me? He wanted to ask but he heard someone calling for Heejae from the other end. And he knew, the conversation was over.
"Hey, I'm sorry. I have to go. But let's meet up for dinner tonight. We can talk more then. Yeah?" Surprised for the third time. They didn't do dinner dates or talk or even plan their meetings. They simply fucked. Yoongi didn't know where this was going, nor was he sure if this should be happening. It'd only lead to feelings. Hard feelings.
Heejae took his silence as a no, realising a minute too late that she shouldn't have proposed the idea of dinner. "Look, forget I said that. Have a good day. I'll see you-"
"No!" Yoongi interrupted her, despite his initial thoughts. "Dinner sounds nice," he said, gulping hard. "I'll be at your place at about eight."
Heejae smiled at his answer, finding herself excited at the prospect of having Yoongi over for dinner. This wasn't how they dealed usually but a change wouldn't hurt anyone.
"Sounds great! I'll be waiting!" With that she hung up, not realising that she had left Yoongi smiling. The argument in the dance studio long forgotten, he started working on a tune that had caused him a lot of headache, but now flowed freely.
He didn't even realise, he had long stopped biting his nails as soon as he heard Heejae's voice.
