The Moon's Gift (H2o Just Add Water Fan Fiction)

Going Down Under.

Lewis, Darren and Zane, have been fishing for quite a while now. Well, Lewis and Darren were trying to fish, while Zane was preoccupied with trying to get a signal on his iPhone. They were a few ways from the town, and somewhat close to Mako island. Lewis especially loved fishing around Mako, because of the abundance and variety of marine life there. He'd never been on the island tho, what with all the stories, but he knew that very soon he'd have to pay a visit there. It was the only to get an idea on what exactly happened to the girls.

"You can't get any signal here Zane, we're practically out in the wild right now" Darren says already annoyed with Zane.

Zane pays him no mind, and tries to get signal by standing on the edge of the boat, while holding his phone up towards the sky. The action, causes the boat to rock every which way, unable to support his weight on the side.

"Careful Zane" Lewis hisses as he and Darren try to steady the boat, by grabbing onto the sides.

Zane ignores them and keeps climbing on the edge. Th boat rocks again, more violently, and this time, in an attempt to steady himself, Zane looses grip on his phone, and drops it into the water.

"Shit." He curses.

"What now?" Darren asks exasperated. The boat was finally steady.

"I dropped my phone" Zane says while raking his fingers through his hair, panic stricken.

"That's entirely your fault Zane. We did tell you that you wouldn't get any signal here, didn't we?" Lewis states, not feeling the least bit sorry for Zane, and goes back to fishing.

"You have to go get it." Zane suddenly says.

"What?!" Darren and Lewis say simultaneously.

"Please Lewis, it's a new phone, and my dad will kill me if I loose it." Zane pleads.

"Well then, get it yourself. It is your phone, I don't see how it's any of my concern." Lewis responds matter of factly.

"Please, Lewis, I can't swim, and it's not that far under yet, I'm begging you. I'll literally do anything." Zane insists bending down, and holding on to Lewis's arm expectantly.

Darren blinks as if trying to wake from a trance, he couldn't believe his eyes and neither could Lewis.

"Seriously, Zane, just leave it. I'm pretty sure your dad will understand, and it's probably ruined already." Darren reasons.

"No, it's not, it's an iPhone 9 Darren, it's waterproof. And, you don't know my dad, if he finds out about this I'm a goner." He snaps at Darren. "Please Lewis, just this once, I promise this is the last time I'll ask you for a favor" he goes back to begging lewis.

Lewis seems to think about it for a moment, before he sighs standing up.

"Fine, but if I don't see it at three meters, I'm coming back up"  he says.

"You can't be serious. " Darren exclaims, shocked at Lewis's response.

"Thanks Lewis." Zane says while smiling.

"Seriously dude, this is bogus. Don't do it!" Darren says more firmly, trying to reason with Lewis.

"Leave him alone Darren! Unless you wanna go in there yourself?" Zane warns Darren.

Darren falls silent. Among the many things he was good at, swimming wasn't one of them. Infact, being on this boat alone, took a lot of courage, as he had an extreme phobia for water, ever since...

"I thought so." Zane says menacingly.

Lewis takes off his shirt, and looks into the water.

"I think I see it." He announces. "I might be able to get it, but if I'm not back up in a minute, someone better come get me" he adds.

"No worries mate, we got you." Zane assures gleefully.

"I really think this is a dumb idea" Darren says and sits back down.

Zane just glares at him.

"Okay, here I go." Lewis says then jumps into the water.

The moment Lewis is a good ways underwater, Zane starts up the motorboat.

"What are you doing?" Darren asks, eyes wide in confusion.

"What does it look like I'm doing, teaching that dumb ass a lesson. You're welcome."  Zane says darkly, and drives towards the town, leaving Lewis behind.

To say Darren was mortified, would be an understatement. He couldn't comprehend just how sick Zane was.

"Zane, quit playing, we need to go back." He urges.

"No way in hell, I've been looking for a way to get my revenge on that joke, and it seems that the universe is on my side." Zane says darkly.

"Do you even hear yourself?! He could die out there!" Darren yells angrily.

"Oh relax Darren, would you? What do you take me for, a psycho, Lewis is a good swimmer. He can swim his way over to that pretty little island there, and call for help, easy." Zane explains not at all phased by Darren's apparent anger.

"And what if he tells on us?" Darren asks fuming.

"As if anyone is gonna believe that looser over us. Don't forget, I'm Zane Bennett, I literally own this town and everyone in it." Zane states smugly.

Darren was beyond disgusted at Zane. He reminded him so much of that man, and it sickened him. He couldn't comprehend how anyone could derive joy from someone else's pain and suffering. Now, he could understand just how Mirabelle saw him. He'd been a idiot. But that was all going to change starting now. The moment they reached the dock, he was gonna hotwire a boat if he had to, and go back for Lewis, Zane's reign of terror had to come to and end.

Lewis knew he'd made a stupid decision, the second he heard the motorboat start up above him, and saw the boat take off. He immediately swims back up, but it's too late, they were nothing but a dot in the distance already. He'd suspected that Zane was up to no good the moment he'd approached him on the docks, he figured he could handle Zane however, but it never occurred to him that this would happen. One thing was certain tho, if he somehow got out of this alive, both he and Darren would pay dearly for it.
