Rikki was on time to school today, well, as on time as she could be, seeing that the moment she stepped through the doors, the bell rings signalling that it was time for home room, and everyone was hurrying to class..

Well, almost everyone, she sees Emma staring blankly into her locker, as if she didn't hear the bell go off. Rikki was tempted to go the other way and pretend she didn't see her, but ever since she became a mermaid and found out that Emma quit the team, she'd become more ' friendly ' much to her chagrin.

" Emma," she says as she gets close to her. She gets no response.

Emma just keeps on looking into her as if no one had spoken. She tries again, but this time, tapping her shoulder

" Emma are you okay?" She asks

Emma jumps and drops the books she was holding to her chest. She looks to Rikki, her eyes widened in shock.

" What the hell Rikki!" She yells.

By this time the halls had cleared, and they were the only two there.

" Whoa, no need to yell. You were staring into the locker as if you'd seen a ghost, and the warning bell just went off. As you can see, we r the only ones here" Rikki responds.

Emma finally looks around " I didn't notice" she says.

" Yeah, no shit. Are you okay, you seem out of it" Rikki asks almost sounding concerned.

" Yeah, I'm fine, I was just lost in thought is all. I have a lot to think about ever since this whole fish thing so..." Emma trails off.

" Oh right, does the team know yet?" Rikki asks.

" I don't know, but I don't want to think of it, let's just get to class. I'll see you around" Emma shuts her locker hard, and stars to walk away.

She stops and calls out to Rikki, who is walking towards her own locker.

" Hey Rikki..." She calls

" Yeah?" Rikki answers

" Would you like to sit with us at lunch? I you don't mind that is..." Emma asks a bit unsure of herself, or why she was even doing this.

Rikki looks at her stunned, but responds either way " sure, why not. See you at lunch" she answers with a smirk.

Emma nods with a small smile, and goes into her classroom.

" Wierd..." Rikki mutters and opens her locker.

Soon enough, it was lunch time. By the time Emma gets to the cafeteria, it's already buzzing with life and as rowdy as usual. She never bothers to join the line she always packed her own lunch. Ever since she got food poisoning from the cafeteria food, she'd been very early about it, and thought it safe to come with her own food. She makes a bee line to her own table, where Cleo and Lewis were already seated. No sign of Rikki.

" Hey" she greets as she sits down beside Cleo, facing Lewis.

" Hey"
" Howdy" they both respond simultaneously.

" The cafeteria seems rowdier than normal, I wonder what's got everyone so chatty " Cleo says looking around.

" Didn't you hear, Antoinette is throwing a pool party today after school, and apparently 'everyone's' invited, if you count the jocks, and socialites as ' everyone '" Lewis explains while mumbling the last part to himself.

" But it's a school night" Emma states

" And when has that ever mattered to the rich and popular?" Rikki says as she joins the table.
