A Dreamer's Dream (A Collins Key Fanfic)

Chapter 9

Becca and I make dozens of posters and put them up all over town. Elizabeth filmed us and edited together the final product.

Today, we're submitting the video.

We sat in a small circle on the floor in my room. 

"Well ladies," I started, "I think we made the best video ever".

"Same here, but I'm biased since I made it," We all laughed.

We all huddled around the laptop. I was in control of the mouse.

"Ready guys?"

Everyone nodded. I clicked on the 'Upload' button.

We all took a small breath and sat back. 

"Welp... Who wants pizza?"

"Me!" They both answered in unison. 

20 minutes later our pizza arrived. 

We all lay on the floor, eating our pizza in silence.

As we were finishing our food, my phone dinged. 

I sat up and looked at it, taking another bit of pizza.

The screen read "Message from @CollinsKey".

I choked on my bite of pizza and started coughing. 

"What what??" Becca took my phone from me while I finished coughing, "Holy crap! No way!" She showed it to Elizabeth too.

"Oh my gosh! Read it read it read it!!"

While they opened my phone and continued to freak out, I continued to cough around my bite of pizza. I finally swallowed and calmed myself when Becca started reading it,

"Hey Caitlin, smiley face, I just wanted to let you know you're one of my Keyper Crew Captains! Heart emoji, I defiantly want you as one of my Captains! Winky Face,"

We all screamed.

"Wait there's another message!" shouted Becca over our screams, "Thank you for your constant support! Love you, heart emoji," 

My heart was beating like crazy. What the heck is happening??

We heard yet another ding, "Oh my gosh there's another one! Collins you're going to kill us of fangirl attacks!"

Elizabeth took the phone this time and read it, "The rest of the Captains will be announced later on the @KeyperCrew page, I wanted to let you know right away, smiley face".

"Wait what? Let me see that," I took my phone back. My stomach twisted a little. Everyone else was screaming and fangirling, "Caitlin! Oh my gosh he just personally told you you're a Captain!"

"Yeah that's really awesome, but why is he signaling out me from everyone else? I don't want everyone else to be mad because they don't find out until later and Collins himself just told me now,"

"True.. But Caitlin! He has a thing for you or something! The flowers? The birthday convo we had with him a few weeks ago? This??"

Both of them took a lot of convincing to believe something. They both were looking at me like 'Dude! How do you not see this?'

"Are you guys sure? As much as I want to believe this, I don't want to get myself caught in something that only exists in our fangirl minds,"

"Caitlin come on! Allow your mind to dream a little!" said Elizabeth.

We just sat in silence for a couple seconds, me looking at my phone, Becca and Elizabeth looking at each other. 

"Well," I started, "We did it girls!"

We all squealed excitedly.

The door swung open, "Ok what is going on with all the screaming in here? What did Collins do?"

Each of us jumped a little in surprise, "Oh hi mom,"

All 3 of us took turns excitedly explaining to my mom what had just happened. 

"That's awesome Caitlin!" My mom said turning to me, "I wonder what your first task will be?"

"I don't know, I hope it's not posters, I've had enough of those this past week,". We all laughed.

Later, after Elizabeth and Becca went home, I was finishing up some homework when my phone light up like crazy. I had a bunch of tweets and other notifications coming in. They must have started announcing the rest of the captains.

I was among the first of the group, many others followed.

My stomach fluttered again knowing I was actually a captain. I don't ever has this much luck.

I set my phone aside and continued with my homework. I was almost finished when the blast of notifications finally died down a bit.

After I finished my homework, I got out my deck of cards.

I wasn't practicing tricks for more than 5 minutes when my phone lit up again.

"@CollinsKey: I have another surprise for you guys! It's coming at you tomorrow! ;)"

I screamed and dropped my phone.

As I picked it up I mumbled, "Oh this child! He's going to kill us of fangirl attacks I swear!" 

I didn't get a chance to do anything when my phone rang.

"Hello?"

"ANOTHER SURPRISE?? Is he TRYING to kill us??"

"Well hi to you to Becca," we both laughed.

"Sorry, but seriously! What could this one be??"

"I have no idea! I guess we'll just have to wait until tomorrow to find out,"

"Ugg fine. Talk to ya tomorrow!"

"See ya Becca,"

I woke up the next day and couldn't think of anything but the surprise. What on earth could it be this time??

I couldn't focus on any school work. I had to keep shaking myself back to reality every 10 minutes.

Finally 5th hour came and it was almost time to go home. The minutes ticked by slower than ever. My teacher kept talking about boring Geometry stuff and I wasn't listening. 

Finally the bell rang and I raced to my locker. I got on the bus and the ride couldn't go by quick enough. I sat in my seat, bouncing impatiently, as person after person filed off the bus.

Once it was my stop, I ran off the bus and into the house. I dropped my backpack onto the floor and turned on my wifi. 

"@CollinsKey: 10 minutes! Get ready!"

He had tweeted that almost 8 minutes ago.

My heart rate picked up. Time seemed to stop. I kept refreshing his page, waiting for that tweet to appear.

Finally he tweeted it,

"@CollinsKey: And the big announcement is.... I'm going on tour with Demi Lovato! :D I've got a little something in store for the captains too!"

I screamed at the top of my lungs and ran to my room. Collapsing on the bed, still screaming, I texted Becca,

"IT'S A TOUR! HE'S GOING ON A FREAKING TOUR!"

As soon as I sent the text I quit screaming.

My heart stopped.

Collins sent me a couple DMs on twitter.

"Congrats on becoming a Keyper Crew Captain! I would like to personally inform you that you get 2 free VIP tickets to the show!"

"We get to hang out a bit before the meet and greet! Can't wait to see you there! :D Love you <3"
