The rest of the week went by and I kept going through the motions, wake up, go to school, dream about Collins all day long, come home, go to bed, repeat. Collins hadn't answered to any my tweets during any of his tweet sprees for the next week, But I countinued to drem on. I was determined to find some way to get him to come over for my birthday. The following Wednesday, I woke up very distracted for some reason. I couldn't stop thinking about Collins. I went through the day like it was a dream. Just going through the motions and constantly thinking about Collins. It seemed for obcessive than normal.
I watched his smiling face as he walked through the front door. I couldn't belive that Collins was really here to celebrate my birthday with me. Devan and his parents were with him. They all filed in with smiles on their faces. The whole Key family was here.
"Good morning Hamilton!" The announcements came over the loud speakers. Guess I'm in second hour now.
"Don't forget to buy your flowers for that special someone this Valentines Day! Friday's the big day!" That brought me back into reality. Would I get any flowers? Course not. I have no "special someone". Maybe one of my friends will buy me one? Or maybe my parents? Nah who am I kidding? I won't get any. Oh well. I've got Collins to cheer me up.
The day wore on. I kept going through my classes and constantly spacing out to day dream. But geometry was actually kind of interesting today.
I walked into class and the first thing my teacher said was "You guys are doing a little activity today." He had what looked like a bunch of protractors made from paper and straws on his desk. He told us that we were to go around figuring out the height of the ceiling in different places of the school using the trig ratios.
This actually sounds kinda fun.
We were put into groups and we headed out. We had to go to the gym, the lunch room, the hallways, and the office.
My group came upstairs from the lunchroom to go into the office. As we passed the big window that showed the parking lot, I noticed my mom's car was parked outside. Now why in the world would she be here?
We came to the office and my mom was talking to the secretary. I walked up to my mom,
"Mom? What are you doing here?" She had a look on her face that suggested she was keeping a secret and I had just caught her.
"Uh, you're not supposed to know I'm here..." She stammered
The secratary looked up at us "Don't worry, you'll be called down to the office later"
Called down to the office? What for? My mind instantly thought of two possible reasons why my mom was here today... Only one was logical.
I left the office and finished the activity with my group. The day school day ended and I spent the bus ride pondering why my mom was at school today. The most logical reason I had come up with, is she was buying me a flower for Valentine's day. I've heard from many other students that their parents buy them flowers for Valentine's Day, could that be what she's doing? She did ask the other night if the school was still selling them...
Even though that was most likely why she was there, I couldn't help but think she was there for another reason.
My fantasy world tried to merge into what was really happening, could she have been secretly planning for Collins to come to my school and perform or something?
Course not, why would something like that ever happen? There's no way anything like that could happen.
I couldn't make up my mind, which reason did I want to believe? The logical reason or my fantasy reason?
I guess I'll just have to accept the fact that she was only there to buy me flowers. Not a bad thing that she did, it'll be nice to not be the only one without one. But I couldn't drop the feeling that she was there for something more than flowers....
