< Harry's POV >

"I'm sorry would you like to repeat that?"

"You are currently under suspicion and allegations of fraud and corruption which in turn, leads to separate charges of perverting the course of justice. I do also believe you have the right to know that other comments have been made towards your departments handling of the Calder murder. Please do not make this any harder for us Harry, you are not under corruption charges as of yet so you have nothing to worry about"

" 'As of yet' as of fucking yet? You have just read me my fucking rights, I am currently under caution in my own fucking office. Who is the officer making these allegations?"

One of the officers sighed "Sir. You know we can't tell you that"

"So it's someone here then" He made a noise in protest before I stopped him "If it wasn't someone here you would've said 'an officer from Fenchurch' or Malton or some crap but you didn't so I know they are at this station. Youll have a bloody hard time getting rid of me with any shitty charges but I can guarantee you will have a letter of resignation on your desk from an officer by the end of the week" I sat back down and watched as all three of them walked out of my office

I'm under fucking suspicion of corruption and fraud. What in the actual fuck is happening right now?!

"Liam!"

He looked up from his desk immediately got up, practically running into my office and closing the door behind himself "What the fuck was all that about?"

"Someone - and by that, I mean someone in this department - has put a report on The Superintendant's desk accusing me of corruption, fraud, perverting the course of justice and the mishandling of vital information regarding the failed apprehension of that Horan bloke"

He scoffed at the notion "Cheeky fucking git, whoever it is"

"It's someone here. That's what's throwing me, and I think I have a pretty good clue who" He raised his eyebrows at me

"Who?"

I let my eyes scan the rest of the main office and saw everyone working hard - well at least pretending to - "I think it's Maxi" Liam looked slightly guilty "What?"

"He kept asking me questions about writing up our reports on the raid last night and about Louis' vehicle being dismissed from the enquiries. I obviously didn't tell him who's car it was that was dismissed but he thought something was up but I got annoyed at his tone and told him to shut up. He looked pretty pissed but went back to his desk"

I nodded at him and as Liam got up to leave, I followed him out of my office, he sat back down at his desk and I stayed standing outside my office door

"I would like to have a word with everyone" I didn't really have a clue what I was going to say but I knew I had to assert some kind of control over my own department "As most of you are aware, the current ongoing investigation and the raid into Niall Horan has been disappointing, to say the least. But It has come to my attention that someone on my watch, very possibly someone in this room, took it upon themselves to make accusations jeopardising my entire career, and that will not do, that will not do at all. And when I find out who is responsible I will be very, very angry. You lot are my team and as far as you are all concerned I am Judge, Jury and Executioner. If you've got a problem or if you don't like it you come to me, you don't take it to The Super, you don't take it to Scotland Yard. You come to me"

Maxi stood up from his desk and looked at me "You know this department is 100 per cent behind you, Sir. Regardless of any allegations"

This cheeky fucker. Liam and I shared a knowing look that said 'really' "Thank you. Now, if it was someone here I expect you to come forward immediately. Lying is not something I will tolerate, I have been fair to all of you and I am sure you would all consider this team good friends but if I have to be an arsehole superior officer then I will be. Regardless if you are honest and come to me, you will not be let off lightly. I'll allow you to have that moral battle with yourself" I entered back into my office - practically slamming the door behind me - and sat back behind my desk with my head in my hands
