"Will you be attending the hunt tomorrow Sir?" William was now perched on the side of a chaise lounge and looking to me for any kind of affection
I gave him a small smile "Oh, no. My apologies but I don't really go in for blood sports as much as I used to" I looked over to where Harry was sprawled out on the opposite furniture and watching our exchange, I couldn't help but smile slightly "Plus, we've got a plane to catch early tomorrow morning"
William looked over to Harry and scoffed before turning his attention back to me "So where are you forking out to go then?
"Oh, I'm not paying for anything, It's all Harry's show. I don't even know where we're going"
He scoffed again and attempted to hide a chuckle "Well... I hope you have fun regardless"
"California, as it happens" My head snapped up to Harry and William looked shocked "I have a house in The Hills, fancied a bit of getaway sun. Probably just going to be flicking between the pool and the bed"
William stood up and stormed out of the room. I sat smirking at Harry and he had a smug look on his face.
"The Hills? Really?" Harry just smiled and leant back in his chair, slowly sipping on his glass of red wine "Well you certainly cleared William out pretty sharpish"
"A win-win then isn't it" He smirked and I moved from my position in favour of going to sit down next to him, chuckling slightly "I was going to keep it as a surprise but I wanted to do anything to wipe the smile off of that smug bastard's face"
"Harry! Language"
"You're hardly one to talk"
I laughed and yeah, he'd kind of got me on that one, I nuzzled my nose into the top of his hair "Yeah but not here. Talking off..." I downed the rest of my drink and placed the crystal back onto the table "We better be heading off, we've got an early start tomorrow and I have a funny feeling that you're going to want a rather late night as well"
"Fucking hell!" Lottie threw her head back in a sort of cackle and immediately stood to her feet "I'm going anywhere other than here" And with that, she left and went to join the conversation with another party of guests.
I called over Charlie and informed him of our timing plans and he assembled the rest of the team and with a hand on the small of his back, Harry and I made our way to the entrance. Announcing our departure as we clung on to every last 'goodbye' in hopes of stretching the enjoyment of the party out for just a little while longer.
"Your Grace?" I turned around to face Charlie and Peter "Many apologies Sir but we really do have to get you both in the car now. There have been fears of a security breach"
I sighed loudly. Cant I even get one night out to myself? To me and Harry? Fucking hell Harry, this isn't fair on him "Oh bloody hell"
"Louis?"
I rubbed my hand over his lower back in an attempt to be comforting "Don't worry love, just go with Charlie"
"But Lou? I want to stay with you, ple-"
"Baby please just get in the car" My voice was undeniably colder than it should've been but these types of situations always get to me in another way "This isn't a choice. This is safety" He did not attempt to move "Go. To. The Car."
He sucked in a sharp breath and ducked his head "No need to be like that Louis" He pushed my hand off of his lower back with his own and turned to follow Charlie back out to the car
I turned to the few officers remaining "Go with him, take him back to the hotel. Make sure he's okay"
"Sir, I'm not authorised to leave you"
