< Louis' POV >

Just over five hours now. That's how long we've been sitting here. That's how long I've been worried sick. That's how long we've all been crying and stressing then crying a bit more. That's also how long it's been that Harry has not woken up. The doctors and nurses are coming in a lot more regularly than they did when we arrived, the worst thing about medical staff is that they never give anything away: they come in, press a few buttons, adjust some things, make notes and then leave. However, the odd things that I've been able to work out from their facial expressions are far from positive.

All three of us have been taking turns to sit with him and talk to him - I'm silently hoping that he'll wake up when it's my turn - Liam normally goes into the room very composed and then comes out again crying when his time is over, Zayn doesn't the shortest watch out of all of us, he can't bear to be in there too long so he comes out after a few minutes, running and rushing outside for some fresh air. Then it's me. I'm in there for as long as I can be, after a while one of them will come and sit alongside of me for as long as they can stand before leaving me again. So it's just me and Harry together.

Why won't he wake up? The doctors keep coming in saying things are okay and he's stable but clearly there's something wrong for him to still be unconscious. According to the boys and previous medical records, Harry has never gone into shock before when he's been shot, he's been up and talking about when he can leave. But not this time.

Now we're all sat outside the room - we haven't been allowed in - just over an hour ago a swarm of nurses and doctors whisked us all out of Harry's room and started doing tests, taking bloods and taking him up for scans and whatever else you can possibly do to someone in hospital. No idea why, they have done all these bloody tests and scans when he was first brought in. But, as Liam said, it's a waiting game at this point.

We're all still internally freaking out though, with nothing else to do, apart from being left all alone with our pessimistic thoughts. It seems like our negative thoughts haven't been entirely inaccurate when the doctor comes out. "Would it be possible to have a word gentlemen?"

"Of course" Zayn managed to say, she opened the door to Harry's room and we all filtered in behind her. Once she turned towards us I could tell something was wrong

"After doing a number of extensive tests we have discovered Mr Styles has an infection that has spread into his bloodstream"

I was taken aback but Liam said something before I could formulate an answer "Caused by what?"

"As opposed to his previous injuries, Mr Styles suffered both an entry and exit wound from the bullet. Gunshot residue passed through the wound and some has unfortunately clung onto the flesh causing infection, then into his blood"

"What does that mean? Does that mean it will take him longer to wake up?" I'm glad Zayn is asking the questions seeing as I'm in no position to

"Sufficiently more. We are having to commit Mr Styles to a medically induced coma he-"

"What?!" My mouth was working quicker than my brain

"His body is only just managing to keep himself breathing correctly, his body can't fight off an infection with hardly any power. Along with the coma he will be attached to a machine that will do his breathing for him so the infection can be overpowered. Mr Styles will be induced by medication, it will be completely painless and increase his chances in the long run..."

"Chances?! Absolutely fucking not. The chances of waking up from a medically induced coma are about 15 percent or some shit. Please don't" I was crying and hysterical at this point
