The pelting of rain against the glass was almost entrancing to Mine as she hugged her pillow tighter.

She starved off the cold in the warmth of her blanket as she buried her face into the soft bolster.

But as she squinted her eyes shut, biting into her lip, a haunting feeling crept up her spine, making her arms prickle with goosebumps...

A pair of yellow eyes flickered through the infinite sea of her thoughts...

Of all things, why does she keep thinking of those damn eyes...?

It felt like a curse, like a plaguing infection that grew, unnoticed yet omnipresent... It made her mind fog up whenever she thought of them...

Mine swore she had seen Libatina with a flashing eye when she caught a glimpse of the maid yesterday...

She recalled sighting Izo with his brilliantly yellow eye, when he had just shot that bolt through Sheele's head...

In addition, the pinkette had seen Chelsea's golden eye several times now...

But she couldn't help but feel like she knew this sight from long even before that...

From a time when it had a much, much more dreadful connotation to it...

It made her shudder from just the mere thought of it, as if it was the icon of a harrowing experience she suffered through, a catalyst for change in her life...

And then a idea occured to her...

'Maybe... maybe it wasn't my memory...' she thought, her fingers curling as her eyes slowly opened...

Staring out through the window, looking into the silent and mysterious night, she drew a deep breath.

Remembering the smoke she inhaled from Matthias' teigu so many months ago, her chest no longer raced upon remembering the horrors of his life.

She even promised to help him feel better, but what has she really done...?

At times like now, she couldn't help but to keep thinking back, often accidentally mistaking his memories for her own...

But it still wouldn't make sense.

Where would Matthias have ever seen those eyes before as a child...?

Why?

How...?

Giving a long sigh, she flipped to her other side.

'Don't think too much about it...'

'Just be glad that Chelsea's safe...'

After a minute of blocking out her confusion and worry, the pinkette's mind gradually shifted to static, drowned out by sounds of the ongoing downpour. Slowly, she let it drift her away to sleep...

The next morning...

The soft buzz of morning townsfolk only served to make me more sleepy...

The kitchen, if anything, gave me a peaceful sensation, like it was somewhere I could be safe away from all the troubles out there...

A little grey moth fluttered around the cabinets, stocked with pickled fruits and plants. The smooth surfaces of the counter and furniture were all spick and span.

The man was actually cleaning his house when we 'made our presence known' shall I say...

After a day spent in Izo's old hometown, which was surprisingly near the capital borders, the four of us made our departure for Civeltown...
