The Fire In Our Hearts

Chapter 3

"I AM HERE!"

the door had been busted down and there was now a small cloud of dust clinging to the doorframe in which the #1 hero was standing in.

Everyone stared in awe at the hero standing at the front of the class. I scowled and breathed sharply out of my nose, making smoke pour out of it like blood.

"As I was trying to say..." Aizawa interrupted the class's gawking. "Today we'll be training with All Might."

Everyone's faces lit up with excitement. I audibly sighed, earning a scowl form Aizawa before he continued.

"Before you leave, though, you'll be getting the hero outfits you designed when you submitted your entrance forms." Aizawa explained.

As he finished talking, numbered columns popped out of the wall on everyone's left.

"Awh yeah! This is epic!"

"Finally some real hero action!"

"This is so cool!"

Everyone had gotten out of their seats in search of their costumes, me following close behind. It wasn't very hard to spot the teal and gold of my costume, so I took the packaged clothes out of the small compartment and unfolded the long plastic bag my costume was in.

"Perfect." I thought.

All Might had taken everyone outside, where he called the names of students, had them walk up next to him, and handed them a small piece of paper with a letter on it that symbolized each team. I had been paired into team "L" with a girl named Uma Kumunui, who's hero outfit made her look like some sort of jungle princess.

After everyone had been sorted into a group, All Might reached into a small box with each piece of paper in it and pulled out the papers for teams "A" and "D".

The teams got into positions and the rest of the class was led into a bunker-like room with live video of each team and multiple camera angles from inside the building. It was definitely interesting watching the teams fight, but I managed to get some good information on my peer's fighting habits.

"Team K and L, you're up next." All Might announced to the other group, the Kumunui girl, and I.

The other team left first to get their stuff set up while Kumunui and I waited, awkwardly staring at each other until the other team gave the green light for us to go ahead and start the "mission".

Before we left the room, we were handed ear pieces that connected wirelessly to each other for communication and a roll of capture tape to detain the villains if possible.

"Ooh, cool!" Kumunui said as she took the ear piece from All Might.

"Yeah..." I replied with a small eyeroll, trying not to touch him as I grabbed the mission "equipment" from his palm.

We were lead into the entrance of the building where All Might's voice over an intercom system.

"Team L, you have ten minutes to detain the villains or capture the weapon. Go!"

As the sound of the intercom hanging up filled the empty maze of hallways,
Kumunui and I darted in desperate directions. I started sprinting thought the halls before I heard her voice echo through the concrete walls.

"What are you doing?"

"Looking for a staircase or their lair? What do you mean "what am I doing?"?" I replied in a loud whisper.

"We should stick together!" She replied in an equally loud whisper.

I didn't respond. I just ran farther into the indecipherable maze of hallways that made up the building. Before long I reached a staircase leading up to what I believe was the second floor.
