"Kamui Woods!? Really!?"
Mina's squeals overthrew all other chatter at the table.
"Yes. I'm interning with Kamui Woods. Your point?" I asked sarcastically.
"My point is that he wants you as his intern. You must've impressed him, eh?" She dropped her fork onto her plate.
I rolled my eyes.
"I didn't even do that well. Daddy Issues over there was the end of me." I gestured to Todoroki.
"I still can't believe the demon won." Bakugou snarled before taking a bite of his sandwich.
"It was a fair win and you know it, Bitch Boy." I replied, mixing my salad with my fork.
"WHY YOU-"
"And this is why you guys shouldn't sit next to each other..." Kirishima stood up and stood next to me, waiting for me to switch seats with him.
I rolled my eyes and stood up, taking my tray with me and sitting back down across from blondie.
"I don't know, I think Fukutsu had an unfair advantage..." Kaminari added, looking from Bakugou to me.
"Yeah, I'd have to agree." Sero looked at Kaminari and then back at his food.
"I mean, she used her quirk correctly. She didn't break any rules and she didn't cheat, so I'm going to have to side with Hatsuko on this." Mina chirped, guiding the straw of her drink to her mouth.
"Yeah, but real "people" versus... whatever Bakugou is was definitely not a fair fight." Kaminari said, leaning away from Bakugou's death stare.
"Whatever Bakugou is is clearly jealous of Hinaki for landing an internship with Kamui Woods~" Mina purred.
"I have a shiv stuffed in my shoe for a reason." I huffed, giving her a mean glare.
"Oh my gosh." Kaminari stood up, making everyone at the table look at him. "You have a shoe shiv!"
Everyone groaned in response as he sat down in defeat.
"Still, you shouldn't have gotten better internship offers than me." Bakugou growled, leaning back.
"I'm gonna have to agree with Bakubro on this one..." Kirishima stated, opening one eye to look at me.
I scowled, turning and getting up from my seat.
"Hey, where're you going?" Mina whined.
I didn't answer.
I made my way out of the cafeteria and into the maze of halls that made up the school. I shoved my hands in my pockets and made a right turn when...
"Here!"
Someone tugged me into a classroom by my arm, leaving the both of us in the dim lighting of the sun shining through the window.
"WHAT THE HELL KUMUNUI!?" I shrieked.
"SHHH! Before someone finds us!" She put a finger over her mouth as she spoke.
"Why did you pull me in here!?" I asked, eyebrows furrowed.
"I need to warn you." She said, her face falling into a serious expression.
Surprise overcame anger as she stepped closer.
"You need to be careful around Kaminoko." She said.
"What?" I asked, pulling away.
"I can't explain as thoroughly as I would like, but you need to be careful around her." She explained.
"That doesn't answer my question." I said sternly.
"If you play your cards right, you might be able to make your way around her unscathed, but, until my plans come into play, that's all the information I can give you." She repeatedly looked out the window as she spoke, almost as if she was scared someone other than me could hear her...
"Okay, but-"
"What are you guys doing in here?"
Fukutsu was standing in the doorway, one eyebrow raised, looking back and forth between Kumunui and I.
"Nothing, just giving back her notes." Kumunui replied, a friendly smile replacing her formerly stern expression.
"Mhm..." Kaminoko hummed, a hint of doubt in her voice.
"I'm just gonna... go..." I nudged my way past Kaminoko, her dark purple eyes almost glowing in the dim lighting of the empty classroom.
Closing the door, I thought only one thing.
No one should be trusted.
