"I SWEAR!" ISABELLE exclaimed "I'm fine! You don't have to go through the barrier with me!"
The impatient girl's parents smiled lovingly at her and chuckled.
"Why are you laughing?! You're muggles! What if you get stuck?" Lines of worry creased Isabelle's forehead, her emotions heightened by the sudden reality that she would be once again, leaving her family.
"Honey, we may be muggles, as you call them, but we aren't stupid. We would be perfectly fine going onto the platform with you, but since you feel so strongly about it, we'll send you off here." Isabelle's mother, Anna, replied affectionately as she and her husband Charles hugged Isabelle goodbye.
"You know I'd love you to come with me. Really, I would, but we can't be taking any chances. Right? Can muggles even pass the barrier? I don't know." She inhaled deeply. "And now I have no idea what I'm even talking about anymore." she said more to herself than to anyone else.
After a flurry of "I love yous" and "Goodbyes" and a final few words of rushed encouragement, Isabelle stepped through the wall and onto platform 9 3/4.
Dragging her suitcase, which was ready to burst, behind her, Isabelle staggered under the immense weight towards the train and began to lift her case on board. Suddenly, a pair of hands reached out and grabbed her bags.
"Need a little help?"
Turning around, Isabelle matched the drawling voice to a smirking face. Sirius Black.
"No, actually. I was doing just fine on my own." The girl replied smoothly.
"Didn't look like it. Besides, everyone wants help from me. " He replied, smirk growing by the second.
"You're so full of it Black. I don't need your help today, I won't need it tomorrow, and I highly doubt I ever will."
Brow raised, he retorted "So there's still a tiny chance you will?"
Bags on the train, Isabelle boarded and replied without looking back, "In your dreams Black, in your dreams."
