Warning: Under age drinking and a creep.
AFTER CHANGING INTO her light blue dress and heels, Isabelle made her way from the bathroom into her dorm, where Lily stood with her wand, waving her arms around and giving the girls things to do as if she were their mother. Finally escaping Lily's scrutiny, Isabelle managed to escape with only curled hair and a different pair of earrings, while poor Marlene had been forced into a more 'sensible' outfit. Marlene had replied to this change of events by complaining, "But I don't want to be sensible! I want to have fun and dance and get very very drunk! That's what I want!"
After a compromise, Marlene toned down the crazy but managed to get Lily into a simple, light green dress that Marlene said made her look "totally hot".Excited for the party, the four roommates, Isabelle, Lily, Marlene and Mary, made their way down to the black lake.
"Chocolate frog" said Mary, the password granting the girls access through the magical wards and silencing charm that masked the party from unwanted visitors. Word spread fast around Hogwarts, making sure only the right people knew about this party, and it appeared that everyone had came. There were lights strung around the trees and floating through the ebony sky, tables packed with drinks, rowdy boys trying to shove each other into the lake, and a field full of dancing students. As much as she hated to admit it, Isabelle knew that the Marauders had out done themselves once again.
After hours of dancing, drinking and laughing, Isabelle decided to walk over to the trees to get away from the stuffy crowd. A voice sounded from behind her. She recognised that voice. It had an American lilt to it, one she had heard not all that long ago. "Hey! Isabelle? Sweetheart, is that really you? It's me, Jakey!"
Crap.
It was Jake. The weirdo guy who she had played off carelessly to her friends as just the strange boy who proposed her, when really, he actually turned into a
border line stalker. Showing up at her hotel room when she had never told him where she was staying. Writing their names together, repeatedly, on any surface that he could get his pen on. Turning up, where ever she went, finally causing her family to leave America a week early.Suddenly feeling the most sober she had felt all night, she replied "Um, hello Jake." While trying to take a step back without looking suspicious. Face changing from adoration to cold anger and confusion in a second, Jake's face was set in a scowl, "Don't walk away from me sweetie. Do you not love me anymore? Come back to America with me, lets leave this stupid place and go. "
The liquor in his system frightened Isabelle. The only thing worse than a psychopath was a drunk psychopath.
Roughly grabbing Isabelle by the arm, Jake tried to pull her away, raising her other arm to slap him, he caught that too as they struggled against one another.
Sirius's POV:
I'd been scanning the party, watching James get wasted and slurring out some love song to Evans, Remus and Peter chatting, only slightly tipsy with some Hufflepuff boys we have Herbology with. And then I saw her. Standing with a boy.
I hated him.
I hated him!Just as I though this slimy little git couldn't revolt me anymore, I watched as he grabbed Isabelle.
Not today creep!
Jumping down from a table, I shoved recklessly through the crowd, not caring who saw me, whose drinks I spilled or which groups I ran through. I just needed to be there. As I approached the struggling pair, without hesitation I drew my fist back and punched the boy straight in the jaw. Bending down, I whispered quietly enough that only he would hear, "Touch her ever again and you will not live to see the light of day."
I felt a strange sort of pride towards Isabelle. She had held her own well, but she shouldn't of had to. I looked at her face, not a single tear had been shed, mouth in a tight lipped frown, but I knew what she was feeling inside. Knowing that she still resented our fight, I didn't try to make conversation. Instead, I pulled off my warm, leather jacket, slung it around her freezing shoulders and found her friends. While someone else would call it a day and go to bed, Isabelle turned around, inhaled deeply and went back into the party. This was her day and she wouldn't let any creep spoil it for her. She's so brave and that's exactly what I love about her. I mean like-
After the party:
Knowing that Isabelle was fine with her friends, I called the other Marauders around in a huddle and explained the situation, as the party was rapidly dying down. James pulled out a book that belonged to Sniv. He said that this spell he found was meant to hang people in the air by the ankle. Like wingardium leviosa, but humiliating, and for people. Feeling nothing but pure hatred for this poor excuse of a man and a wizard, I told James to go ahead.
"Levicorpus!" The unconscious body was lifted into the air as we walked up to the castle, James making sure to bump him into a few ceilings and walls on the way.
Knocking rapidly on the door, as we didn't have a password, Dumbledore's eventually came to his office door, wearing long, maroon pyjamas with a matching sleep mask and night cap. Confused as to why we were at his office at 3 in the morning, we explained the situation, leaving out Isabelle's name as he knew she wouldn't want any pity but the Headmaster figured it out nonetheless.
By the time the Sun had risen, it was just Dumbledore and Sirius sitting there. The other Marauders had reluctantly left to go to bed but Sirius stayed, needing to make sure that Jake was sent away.
And he was.In that moment, Albus felt nothing but pride and joy for the boy in front of him. The usually so guarded Sirius Black cared.
He was kind and brave and although he may not yet know it, deeply in love with the one and only, Isabelle Laurent.____________
