"reki, i can't do this."

"of course you can! want me to hold your hand? uh, you know, so you don't fall."

"no thanks." langa said as he took a deep breath, gaining confidence from reki's words.

it didn't take long until langa was on the floor, whining.

"you said i could do it, reki!"

"normalize falling while learning how to skate! i've fallen a billion times trying to nail my first ollie."

"hmph. now my knee hurts thanks to you." langa tried to give a bitter look, but he was still the same cute boy to reki.

"i told you that you could hold my hand!" reki protested.

langa just sat there, looking down hopelessly, not even trying to get up. it would probably hurt anyway.

"geez, you gotta get used to falling, langa!" reki sighed as he sat down next to him. "here, my mom always used to do this to my sisters when they fell. thy always stopped crying, so i'm sure it made them feel better."

langa let out a "huh?" as reki pulled langa's leg thowards himself. his face was so close to his injured knee.

langa could feel his face heat as reki planted a soft kiss on the scar. langa's face was definitely covered in pink. a dark shade.

"ah, sorry if that hurt! like i said, my mom did this because-"

"reki, it's okay. it actually helped. i think i can stand up now." langa said, looking away and trying to take deep breaths to cool down.

"that's good to hear! alright, i'm sure you'll get to nail this soon!" reki said as he stood up. no sign of embarrassment was left on his face.

"hey, reki." langa broke the comfortable silence.

"yeah?"

"wanna go to the bakery tomorrow?"

langa still couldn't believe he thought of a perfect plan at the spot. if reki said yes, tomorrow would be awesome.

"hm, how about today? we still have some time."

now thats even better.

"reki..."

thankfully reki was used to the situation. "yeah, i'll order for you. what do you want to get?"

langa loved this side of reki. caring, never judging, and understanding. when did he deserve a friend like him? he still couldn't believe how reki didn't know his own worth.

langa pointed at the picture on the small menu.

"cold strawberry cheesecake? alright."

"welcome! what could i get for you today?" the waitress asked in a cheerful voice.

"we'll have a cold strawberry cheesecake, and two chocolate donuts please." reki ordered for the both of them.

"why'd you wanna come here all of a sudden?" reki asked while they waited for their orders.

"i um... i don't know, i just wanted to come here, i guess."

"alright..?"

"here are your sweets, sir." the waitress came back surprisingly fast. she placed the plates on the table, as well as a knife and a fork for langa.

"i also brought a knife because the cheesecake is cold, so its kind of hard." the waitress gave a smile.

wonderful. langa didn't have to ask. it was all going according to the plan.

"thank you." he said with a faint smile.

the waitress bowed and went to another table.

"you like cheesecake?" reki asked, just to keep a conversation going.

"mhm, yeah." langa picked up the knife and cut a piece of the hard cake. the piece was then on the knife. langa would normally eat it with the fork, but for his plan to work, the knife was crucial.

reki looked up and warned langa. "don't eat with the knife! you'll cut your tongue or something!"

"it's okay. i won't."

that was a lie.

as langa tasted the cake, the knife brushed the side of his mouth.

as he planned. now the scar wasn't on his lips which reki would be too embarrassed to kiss, but on the side of his mouth. more noticeable and more... kissable?

"oww..." langa whined.

reki looked up to see langa's scar. "i told you not to eat with the knife!"

langa just looked at him with a guilty look. but reki wasn't stupid. he might be a bit dense, but not this dumb. langa was smart enough to know that a knife would cut him. and right next to his mouth? that was too obvious.

"you could've at least waited a few days." reki said quietly, with his head low.

"huh-" was the last thing langa said before he felt reki's lips on his.

"oops, looks like i missed!" reki said after he broke the kiss with a giggle. langa was just flushed with open eyes.

"b-but..."

"you're underestimating me so bad langa. i might be dumb... but i'm not stupid." reki cracked another giggle.

at this point langa was just adoring his face. "was i too obvious?"

"yeah... oh won't you look at that! a cut on your lips! might as well kiss it better, hm?"

reki had already leaned in before langa could reply. reki's soft lips were driving langa crazy. this went a thousand times better than he had originally planned. reki grabbed a napkin from the table as he pulled away, and wiped the blood next to langa's mouth.

"there. don't hurt yourself again, okay?"

"mhm. okay."

langa took the chance of the atmosphere and pressed their lips together once again.

"um, sorry to interrupt but if you're done with your deserts, would you mind leaving? sorry, we're really crowded today."

"ah, sure. sorry!"

that was embarrassing.

they skated home holding hands. the sun was setting and the weather was warm. langa spent the whole time staring into reki's golden eyes which sparkled under the low lights.

meeting reki was the best thing that happened to langa.he was the absolute best person langa could ever wish for.
