We gently pulled apart. Ross’s arms were still around me as he continued to stroke my hair. I wiped my eyes with my hands and said more boldly this time, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have broke down, I just…sometimes my parents can be so misunderstanding.”

“Well, Amanda, your parents, no matter how misunderstanding they are, still love you and want the best for you.” Mrs. Lynch said, trying to comfort me. I said nothing.

We all stood there in the silence.

“Do you need to get home?” she asked, gently.

“I don’t want to go home. Not yet. My parents are just gonna blow up and smack me for leaving the house without their permission.”

“Then come with us back to the hotel. I think we’ve had enough of strolling New York.” Mrs. Lynch said. Her smile made me feel warmer and much happier, and I didn’t know how she did it but I felt better already.

“Aw, thanks Mrs. Lynch. I really appreciate it, this is really sweet.”

“No problem, honey. Call me Stormie.” She smiled again. “Now come along. Come on kids, back to the tour bus!”

Oh god, was I really in R5’s tour bus? Heck, this has to be a dream.

Sure enough, I was sitting in their tour bus. Better yet, I was sitting with Ross in their tour bus. He still had his arm around me and didn’t let go. I snuggled up in his arms and we stayed like that, sharing each other’s warmth. He kissed the top of my head and put his chin on it gently.

“Are you cold? You’re only wearing a hoodie.” He suddenly asked.

“Well I couldn’t exactly go through the closet and grab my jacket before my parents pulled me back into the house. I wanted to get out.” I laughed.

He laughed too and took off his jacket, putting it around me, and we went back to snuggling on the tour bus's couches. Wow, this is a girl’s dream come true. I fell asleep into a light nap in the warmth and protection of his arms.

I awoke to Ross’s lips on my forehead.

“Wha…? Where are w—oh! Ross!”

He smiled and said, "Rise and shine sleepyhead! We're at the hotel!"

I giggled. "What time is it?"

"Uhh..." He took out his iPhone in its pink case and checked the time. "It's like 4 so..."

"What? I only slept for half an hour and you're calling me a sleepyhead?!"

"Well you were sleeping so technically, that makes you a sleepyhead." he teased. "Come on, we gotta get to the hotel". He pulled me off the couch and dragged me out of the bus. It was already dark outside (direct result of winters in New York). Ross pulled me by the hand into a hotel right outside of the bus. I followed.

We walked into the lobby of the hotel and almost immediately, Ross was surrounded by a swarm of Austin & Ally fans. They quickly spotted me holding onto Ross's hand.

"Who is she?"

"Are they going out?"

"What, back off hun! Ross is mine!"

"Whoa whoa whoa! Hold on, girls, please. I'm just taking her to...to...to the bathroom!" He stuttered.

"Oh, why can't she go to the bathroom herself?"

"What a wierdo!"

"Hey Ross, can I get your autograph?"

"No me first! I want a picture!"

"No me, move out of the way fatty!"

"I was here first!"

Back and forth, insults were shot at each other. I was saddened that they were fighting with each other and ignoring their supposed 'role model'.

"Come on." Ross whispered in my ear. We ran out of the crowd and into an elevator. Once the doors closed, we both heaved a sigh of relief. He looked at me and smiled. He must've seen my face drop because he asked then, "What's wrong?"

I looked at him and slowly said, "Well, um. Nothing. It's just that...um..."

"Tell me. I can listen."

"Well, you lied about us holding hands."

"Well I didn't wanna be attacked by them for holding hands with a girl who wasn't them." He said, chuckling.

"Oh..." I half-heartedly laughed with him. Now I feel stupid.
