“Um…I’ve gotta go home now.” Tori said. She went down the stairs leading to the underground subway station, leaving me alone with R5.

Now that our improv scene was over and our laughter finally ended, I could take the opportunity to strike a conversation. But before a word came out of my mouth, Ross asked shyly, “So..what’s your name?”

He’s striking a conversation with me! Oh my gosh… “I’m Amanda” I said with a weak smile. “And my friend, she just left before though, but yea, she’s Tori.”

“Oh, well…um…nice to meet you Amanda.” He said, smiling. “Uh…” His hand shot out and he held it there awkwardly.

“Um…Nice to meet you too.” I laughed nervously and we awkwardly shook hands. Was that all you could say Amanda?

“You make a good knight.” I laughed.

“Couldn’t have done it without my fair maiden.” He flashed his smile and looked at me. His eyes were twinkling.

I laughed and looked back into his eyes. His light brown eyes. Like milk chocolate.

“So…Amanda, you live here?” Rocky interrupted our moment and I broke our gaze.

“No I have to take a train to get home. I just came here for a walk ‘cuz my parents kicked me out the house.”

“Really?” Ross turned to me with shock on his face.

“Yea, it was just an argument, we do it all the time. They yell at me, I argue back, they yell at me saying that they’re right, even if they’re not. Then they don’t talk to me for a while, they come back with a lecture, and expect me to change because of it. I just got tired of them wanting to change who I am so I ran out the house.”

Ross gently took my hand and whispered, “Wow…I’m sorry.”

“Don’t apologize, it’s not your fault.” I looked in his eyes. He had a sorrowful expression and the others did too. “Ohh…don’t feel bad. I just needed some time away from them ‘cuz well…they just…they…” tears were streaming down my face now. “I’m sorry” I said between muffled cries. Ross pulled me into a tight hug and I cried into his scarf. We stood together, embraced in each other’s arms, in the cold winter air. His strong arms wrapped around me and I felt like all life’s pain and suffering had been lifted from me. His hand ran through my hair and pulled out a tangle that the wind made.
