(The chapter takes place when Jamie was still young so basically it's STILL a flashback but anyway enjoy😊)

Jamie awoke to the aroma of freshly baked muffins and pancakes. She sat still on the side of her bed letting her legs dangle over the side. She slid out of bed and stumbled to her bedroom door. She walked through the long hallway that lead to a gigantic kitchen. Her mother and father were sitting at the table, sipping coffee and enjoying the food that her mother had made. Her mother was sitting in a beautiful brown chair. She sat quietly and started nibbling on a small piece of toast, sipping her coffee from time to time. She was reading a novel, one of her most favorite novels. Jamie's father on the other hand, was gobbling down his food leaving small crumbs on the beautifully embroidered table cloth. he gulped down his coffee and looked at the morning news paper he had gotten from the front yard. Jamie's father got up and took the dirty dishes over to the sink. On his way he ran into a small puddle of water on the ground. He slipped and fell. Jamie's mother looked over and laughed a little before helping him off the cold floor. Jamie couldn't help but let a small giggle escape her lips. Her father heard the giggle and looked at her and smiled and started to laugh as well. "I've always been like this, tripping and falling on every little thing." he joked and and lifted himself off the ground. "When did you wake up, I was planning to give you breakfast in bed." Her father said sadly. "I woke up just a bit ago, why were you planning to give me breakfast in bed?" Asked Jamie. "Because its your birthday silly." both parents exclaimed. "What? That's today?" Asked Jamie. " Yes silly." said her smiling father. "Since its your birthday, I made you your favorite breakfast, Strawberry muffins and banana pancakes." Said her mother happily. Jamie's eyes filled with joy and she started to jump up and down. "I'm almost done, go upstairs and get dressed, daddy planned a great day for the to of you." her mother said. Jamie stopped jumping and slowly looked at her mother. "Aren't you coming with us mommy?" Jamie said. Her mother looked at her. Her smile disappeared leaving a small frown upon her lips. "I would love to come, but I just can't. Your baby brother will be here day now and it will be safer if I just stay here at home." Jamie understood and hugged her mother tightly. She walked back to her room and shut the door. She picked out her favorite dress from her closet and put it on. She walked back out and saw her mother washing dishes. Jamie walked into the kitchen and saw that a plate was made for her on the counter. Her mother heard her walk in and and turned around. " You look beautiful today sweetie, I made a plate with all your favorite goodies on it." Jamie's mother picked up the plate and put it on the table. Jamie thanked her mother and started to eat. Jamie love strawberries so she at the muffin first. She gobbled it down and moved on to the pancakes. She sniffed them and smelled the delicious smell of bananas. She gobbled those down too. She got up and walked to the sink carefully, trying not to make the same mistake as her father, and put them in. She walked over to the couch and saw her father putting his shoes on. She joined him on the couch and started to put her shoes on too. Her father got up and walked over to the door to get his coat. He grabbed Jamie's coat to and carried it over to her. she thanked him and put it on. "We're leaving!" he called out to Jamie's mother. "Ok, be back before dinner!" She called back. Jamie's father opened the door and and they walked out. the wind was chilly but Jamie liked it. He unlocked the car and opened the door for Jamie and got in. He smiled and put the keys into the car. Jamie's father looked behind him to check for traffic. When there wasn't any more cars, he started to drive.
