When we reach my locker I notice that April has her head down. Matter of fact she had her head down the whole walk over.

"Ari are you sure you're okay?"

"Hm? Oh yeah I'm fine." She says barely making eye contact.

"Ari don't lie to me." She huffs and looks up at me.

"It's stupid. Don't worry about it." I put my hand up to caress her cheek while rubbing it softly with the pad of my thumb.

"Ari if it's making you feel some type of way then it's not stupid. Just talk to me." She takes a deep breath and relaxes into my touch. She pulls my hand away from her face to intertwine it with hers.

"Just please don't hurt me okay?"

"Thought never crossed my mind and never will." I say smiling. She smiles back but it gets even bigger as I grab a lock-and-store container from the top shelf of my locker and open it reveling chocolate cake from my mom's bakery. "I was going to save it for lunch but you need something to boost your spirits." She pecks my lips at least five times before eating the chocolate cake. She does a little happy dance once she finishes. I giggle a little and take the container from her.

"Come on Ari you forgot your backpack in your class."

"Hm? No I didn't it's right here." She turns and sees that her backpack is indeed not on her back. "Never mind Aura. You're right let's go." I smile and start walking to her Spanish 2 class. We finally reach the class not really caring that the 3-minute warning bell just rang. We both have feee period anyways. The teacher's back is turned so me and April just walk in. She trips over a textbook left on the ground and I catch her.

"Thanks Aura. That's kinda embarrassing."

"No problem Ari. I'll always knew you were falling for me." She turns around to face me while smacking my arm.

"Aura that was the cheesiest thing I ever heard."

"Oh but it isn't far from the truth now is it?" I ask teasingly.

"No. No it's not." She says with a huff. I walk over and grab her backpack from the desk. She thanks me and was just about to peck my lips but someone coughed which causes April to squeal and jump into my arms.

"Well hello there my squealing beauty." She looks at me and rolls her eyes.

"Shut up Aura." She says while blushing. She might turn pink into my new favorite color if she keeps that up. The person clears their throat again and we finally give them our attention. We most have totally forgot that the teacher was still in here.

"April Swan did you just talk? Like actual speak without being forced to? Oh this is awesome!" Totally not what me or April was expecting at all.

"Um yes I guess so."

"That's so good to hear. I've started to become worried for you. I thought I had one of those depressed, shy kids. I was actually going to pull you aside tomorrow and make sure everything was alright. But now, now I don't have to because well you haven't stopped smiling since you tripped over that textbook. Oh and then you went to the bathroom and never came back I was beyond worried. I'm just super glad you're okay."

"Thanks for the concern Mrs. Andrews but I'm fine. I promise."

"Well you're welcome dear. Um but who is this? She seems to be the only person you ever smile and talk to."

"I'm Aurora Mills, April's girlfriend." I say, waving. She smiles and waves back with a small nod.

"Wait. Aura if we are in the same grade that means you would have Mrs. Andrews too. Why don't you have Mrs. Andrews?"

"I've been fluent in Spanish since I was ten. That's why I have two free periods." She nods her head and so does Mrs. Andrews.

"Who told you that you can be a Spanish prodigy?" April says, giggling.

"Michelle Obama." I reply. This turns April's giggles turns into laughs and eventually she can't breathe.

"Ari! Stop laughing and breathe." I say slightly laughing at her. She keeps on laughing. Was it really that funny? "Breathe or no more chocolate cake." She stops laughing and looks at me while regaining her breathe.

"You wouldn't dare."

"Nah I wouldn't my mom would kill me." She rolls her eyes at me. I catch a glimpse of Mrs. Andrews who is leaning against her desk smiling at us.

"How is she by the way?" April asks. Before I can answer my phone dings and I pull it out of my pocket. My mom texted me saying that she needed her test taster asap.

"Well my ocean-eyed beauty she actually needs you for a new flavor she's been working on." April blushes and grabs my hand.

"Come on! I want to see what new flavor she's making!" She says with a squeal. We wave goodbye to Mrs. Andrews and head to my car.

We finally arrive to my house and once we get inside my mom already has different flavors set out for us. She created these new candy flavors she wants to turn into cake and we both agree that she should go for it one hundred percent. A couple of times my mom looks between us two then looks away. I know that look. She's getting suspicious about something. April and I share a look and a quiet giggle before heading up to my room.

"Your mom is catching on."

"I know." I say laughing.

"Well let's see if my parents start to catch on." She says laughing.

"You know that instead of saying "your mom" you can just call her Miranda. She doesn't mind."

"Oh yeah sorry." I peck her lips and smile.

"No need to apologize Ari." She nods her head and goes over to my bookshelf.

"Can I read this one?" She asks holding up 'One Of Us Is Lying'.

"Sure. You don't have to ask." She smiles and comes back to my bed. I laugh and open my arms. She happily jumps in them with a cute giggle. I peck her nose after she gets all comfortable in my arms.

"Wanna read?" She asks as she opens the book.

"Nah I'll just watch you be perfect." She blushes and let's her eyes read the lines of the paper. She's curled up to my chest and the only sound is the flipping of the pages.

"Head scratches?" April asks in the most adorable baby voice ever.

"Of course Ari." I peck her forehead before giving her light but effective scratches on her head. I can never say no to her if she keeps this up.

After ten minutes of my scratching her head and admiring her while she reads I feel the book starting to press on my thigh. I look down and see that she's fallen asleep. I smile and lightly take the book from her hands and placing it on my nightstand. She snuggles her head deeper into my chest as I peck her forehead. I take my hair out of its bun and take off my glasses, setting them on my nightstand next to the book. I peck her forehead one more time before I get more comfortable and fall asleep along side with her.
