Daven The Hedgehog: His Story

Chapter 5: Meeting Team Dark

"Can I hold your hand?"
"No"
"Please?"
"No"

I sighed as I walked with Ember slightly scared due to the bad looking side of town. By now it had to be like 3 in the morning. We walked down this shifty street down a couple of alleys before we finally made it to her so called "home" which looked like a big abandoned warehouse.

"Alright we're here. Don't touch anything you see." She spoke to me in her strict voice which I was ok with cause she wasn't a member of staff at the orphanage so I felt safe-ish.

It was dark and cold. Barely any light but there was something glowing the room, something small and red. Curiously whilst Ember was taking care of her cuts and bruises from when she crashed earlier on with the medkit by the door I found myself walking towards the 2 small red lights until-

"Intruder alert! Activating: Home security!" It was a robot!

"AAHHH!" I freaked out running fast all around the building unaware that an annoyed Ember was telling the robot to stand down.

"For god sake. Kid stop that!..." she sighed heavily with her arms crossed.
"Right! This is Daven. Daven, this is Omega. He's not gonna hurt you...not unless one of us give the order."

"Us? Who's us?"

"Ahem!"

I froze in place I saw two shadows looming over me. One was a hedgehog I could tell. From the shape because I'm obviously a hedgehog. The other one...I couldn't put my finger on it. Not until I saw the shape of the wings. A bat!

I turned around slowly looking up immediately seeing a dark black hedgehog with his arms crossed staring at me with a glare as if to say "I hate you" and a white furry bat with a look of curiosity.

"Umm who's this pinky?" The female bat broke the silence by asking the obvious question which I don't blame her.

"That's Daven. I found him in the streets. He ran away from the orphanage and saved me from a Vixen Robot."

The black hedgehog immediately looked at Ember across the room. "Vixen?!...are you sure?"

"Yep. Same model and same kind of weapons."

"Goddamn it!" He angrily yelled.

"Shadow! There's a kid here." The female bat exclaimed before rolling her eyes then looking down at me again. "Names Rouge kid. This grumphog is Shadow."

I quietly giggled at the name "grumphog" whilst also I tried to keep my manners. "Umm sorry Miss Rouge and Mister Shadow."

Ember sighed walking towards us "Ok he is gonna stay here for a couple of days until I can find some other place for him to live. So no swearing! Or I will literally kick my foot so far up your a-"

"Shadow, the commander requests an update on the missing Chaos Emeralds immediately." Omega interrupted her which immediately causes Shadow to wall straight into their "mission room".

"Ok kid I'll take you to our spare room. Follow me." Once again in that strict voice Ember told me to follow behind to the spare room of this place.

Later on

I eventually got comfortable in the bed after I begged Ember for a lamp. I couldn't sleep in the dark since it was the first time I slept alone in a room.

However whilst I slept Rouge was with Omega since Shadow went out to the nearest shop to get whatever for the Team but something strange happened. Ember's sack or bag she was carrying earlier on contained 4 pretty coloured diamonds. The Chaos Emeralds but of course I didn't that at the time.

But I saw them. In my dreams. They felt real, like a memory...I wasn't sure if it was a good one or a bad one. Then I saw a lab, testing, doctors and something being created but it was hurting my head. Then the pain became excruciating as I saw death and suffering around the universe. A hedgehog in his dark form. Fire, death and destruction! The pain was unbearable.

The Chaos Emeralds glowed unnaturally bright which finally caught Omega's attention.
"Rouge, the Chaos Emeralds seem to be reacting to something." She looked and saw them. They glowed brighter and brighter so obviously it concerned her enough to run out the room with Omega to get Shadow or Ember's help.

"Shadow! Ember! Something is not right!" Everything shaked violently! It felt like an earthquake as Ember saw the Emeralds. "What the hell did you do?!" "I didn't do anything! Omega saw them glowing them I did!" She sounded pretty convincing to Ember so she chose to believe her.

I whimpered as I started sweating. My furr felt cold even though I was hot as if i was in a desert. It began to slowly turn into dark purple. First it was my legs then it started on my arms. Then-

"NOOOO!" I screamed awake jolting up sitting up straight heavily breathing. My furr was normal. I wasn't awake to notice it. I felt the sweat and it suprised me. However I still remember one thing about that one dream.
