Debbie's POV.
Waking up, I knew I wasn't going to find Archer in the bed with me but that didn't stop me from hoping he would be fast asleep so I could admire his glow up. My phone said that it was almost 9 am so I got up and did my morning routine before I went down to the kitchen.
I was surprised to see Archer because usually, he'd be at work at this time. He was reaching into the cupboard while he was on his phone speaking to someone he called 'Danvers'. I noticed how his biceps flexed when he stretched his arm out showing off his muscularity and I got jealous.
I trudged into the kitchen and had a seat behind him on the stool before he turned towards me giving me a small dimpled smile. I didn't return it though, I wasn't in a smiling mood.
"...today, around 4 because am going out today."
I mentally scoffed at his words. I can't believe he's really going to leave me in the house alone again after what happened and he still hasn't figured out who the traitor was.
"Good morning," he started up a conversation with me.
"Morning," I mumbled in return placing my palm on my cheek.
"Are you hungry?"
"No."
"I know you didn't eat last night," he pointed out.
"How could I?" I mumbled so only I could hear but he did anyway.
"Well, you will need your full strength for what I have planned for us today," he announced with a mischievous grin.
I suddenly felt a little lighter.
"What is it?" I asked, trying to hide the curiosity in my voice.
"You'll see when we get there. But get ready in something casual, we're having breakfast at Fanny's," he instructed, making me pout.
"So you couldn't make us anything?"
"Do you want me to make something?"
"Or I could just make us something?" I suggested shrugging my shoulders and he grinned.
"We're going to Fanny's because we're almost late. I didn't want to wake you up but you took disadvantage of that," he finalized but I was not entirely satisfied. "You can make us dinner later," he flirtatiously added and walked away before I could say anything in response.
*******
"Good morning, can I take your order?" a guy with a Starbucks tone came to the table. To say he was cute was an understatement but I was sure I was still older than him. He had shiny short brown hair, green eyes along with a sharp jawline, and a cheeky grin.
I noticed that he was trying to flirt with me which initially made me want to laugh but I gave him a sweet smile instead. "I want a latte and a chocolate donut." Archer rudely cuts in getting the guy’s attention.
My eyes traveled to Archer to see him glaring at the poor waiter. If looks could kill...
"And you, Angel face?"
"Her name is not 'Angel face' and she wants french vanilla and a chocolate-filled croissant. To go," Archer again butts in but this time with a much more authoritative tone.
"I'll have that right with you."
"Send another waiter, boy," Archer growled at him, making me roll my eyes in annoyance.
"You can't hate everyone that tries to do their job," I began arguing with him.
"He was portraying an inappropriate attitude towards a customer. Not any different from sexual harassment. I can have him fired," he backfired sassily.
