I was in my room after taking a shower and doing my homework at 7 o’clock, talking to Cora when my parents called me for dinner. I wore my sponge Bob pajamas, I hopped down the stairs and into the kitchen. I stopped.

"Seriously!" I groaned an ugly one when I saw my parents making out in the kitchen.

I guess Dad already has had his dinner since he was practically eating mom's face off.

"A little warning next time," I said walking towards the living room to see the table already set. I sat at my usual spot just as my parents entered.

"I'm sorry Debear but it's impossible not to kiss your mother when she looks more beautiful every time I look at her," dad said staring at my mom who blushed and stuck her tongue out at him.

"But it seems like you get uglier every time I look at you," my mom joked.

"And you totally love me," Dad accused laughing.

"Very much," mom grinned before pecking his lips. Then they smooched again, and again and a-

"Enough of that," I interrupted them and they laughed taking their seats Dad at the head and Mom in the seat closest to his while I sit at the other end.

Halfway through dinner, Dad broke the silence. "Debear, your Mom and I have something to tell you," he said putting down his fork and sipping his wine.

"Okay, what is it?" I asked curiously following my Dad's action with my fork.

"Because of the sudden killing of your classmates. Your Mom and I don't think it's safe here with the killer on the loose. So, we've decided, with the permission of my parents, to send you to New Jersey to stay with them for the time being."

Huh? Seriously? I have to move. I just confessed to my crus after 2 freaking years.

"What?"

"It's just for a short while Debear, you'll be back when they find the killer," Mom assured me.

"And if they don't?" I challenged.

"We don't know, but your safety is most important right now. And you get to see Archer again," Dad replied.

My brows furrowed. "Who's Archer?" I asked cluelessly, not familiar with the name, and my parents looked at me as if I'd grown two heads. I gave them a questioning stare.

"Anyways. You'll be safe there for the time being," Dad changed the subject smoothly si I just ignored it.

"And what about you?" I argued. "What if the killer or killers come after you?"

"We'll be fine darling. If you'd like, we'll even get bodyguards," Dad suggested and Mom looked at him sharply.

"Yeah, that's not gonna happen. I like my privacy," Mom declared.

"It's not a question Ruby. You will get one, especially with your current state," Dad strictly said.

"Current state?" I pointed out only hearing those words and my Mom glared at my father who gave her an apologetic stare.

"Debear," Mom sighed. "Your father has to tell you something else," she said angrily emphasizing 'your father'.

It was my father's turn to glare at my mother and she ignored him finding her mash potatoes more interesting.

"Debear. Your Mom and I... are giving you a sibling."

I need to get a hearing aid.

"What?!"

"I'm pregnant honey," Mom repeated in other words and I stared blankly at her.

"Oh," was all I could say. "How long?"

"Um, 3..." dad trailed off nervously.

"Weeks?"

"Months."

"What?" I repeated for the hundredth time angrily. "When were you planning to tell me?"

"Soon," Mom lied.

"When you were in labor?"

"Debear-"

"Don't Debear me. What happened to us telling each other everything?" I cut off my mom. "What was so bad with me knowing about this?"

"Derek," my Mom threw the question at my father.

"Don't look at me. You’re the one carrying the baby," he defended himself.

I was furious. "I thought we had no secrets. You guys promised."

"Hold on there Debear. You were the one being bullied for years and didn't bother to tell us," Mom backfired sassily.

Yeah, I see where I got my attitude from now.

"That's different. That was none of your business. It wouldn't have affected you," I shot back at her.

"Of course it's our business. You are our child and anything you say or do must concern us once you still live under our roof!" Mom yelled getting up and Dad got up with her with panic written all over his face.

"Okay, ladies let's calm down. Deep breaths honey. That's it," Dad calmed Mom down while I stared at them with tears in my eyes. "Now take a seat honey," he said helping her sit.

"When do I leave for New Jersey?" I seethed wanting them to feel as if I would rather be away from them.

"This weekend," Dad answered while feeding Mom some water.

"Great. I can't wait," I leered glaring at my mother who stared at me before I got up and stormed to my room slamming the door shut.

I can't believe they kept this from me. What was the freaking point? It's not like I was gonna demand her to get an abortion or anything. Growing up, I wanted to get someone I could play with but at the same time, I didn't want to feel like I was replacing my brother. Even though I barely remember how he looks because it's been 12 years, I will never act like he never existed.

For the remainder of the night, my mood was spoiled. First I was accused of some heartless murder, my parents decided to literally ship me to New Jersey without any preparation because of this, and now I found out that they hid a very important fact from me and is probably hiding a lot more.

I groaned realizing the fact that I will no longer see Aaron everything and the fact made me furious. It's all because of that mystery murderer's fault. Coming in to ruin my fucking life.
